To ask on what occasions you wear lipstick and do you touch up during the day?

Super frivolous Friday chat.
I love lipsticks but fon’t wear them as often as I’d like to. I always put it on during the weekend but, when I am at work, I usually avoid it as I end up drinking coffee/tea and don’t have access to a mirror all the time to check it’s still in place and not on my teeth etc so I find it more practical not to use it. I’d love to though!
I am just curious to know what others lipstick habits are!

Also, what is your go to shade?

I wear if whenever I go out. I use Max Factor Lipfinity. It seriously doesn't need topping up as it doesn't come off!

I use Maybelline Superstay 24 hr. Goes on like lipgloss but stays on until you scrub it off. Then I apply clear gloss/balm over the top.

If I'm going into the office once a week or if I've going out. I work from home the rest of the time so don't bother.

They don't really last on me so I tend to stick to a tinted lip balm that I reapply quite frequently, when I put on makeup. I use a Burt's Bee one, pomegranate, I think. I do use a lip liner to give me lips a bit more definition before hand.

I love red lipstick on other people but unfortunately it looks terrible on me and usually gets all over my teeth despite trying to apply it carefully.

All I wear daily is lipstick and BB cream. Dior Shipshape is my favourite but it doesn’t stay on long. Gorgeous red with brown undertones.

Special/formal occasions only.

I don't leave the house without lipstick. Even if I have no other make up on I still wear it.

Every day. I use the bare minerals prowear lipsticks, which are Matt and last ages. I reapply at various points if required. And I like a red one called 'saffron' which is really orangy. It's lovely. Or a pink one called 'bloom'. It's a lovely pink but not too sugary. I'm also dark eyed and haired with a warm skin tone.

Nearly always to work. I genuinely look better with it. I wear more natural shades now, except when I'm in the mood for red!

I used to think that , then I discovered rimmell lipfinity. It really does stay on

I'd rather wear a very natural coloured lipstick than balm especially in winter, as I find balm/chap stick seems to make my lips even drier. 🤷‍♀️

I wear all the other make up but I've never got on with lipstick. It never looks right on me, it comes off and it feels drying. I couldn't be bothered with touching up, sounds a right faff. Lip balm constantly though.

About 50% of the time on normal days, but always natural looking 'my lips but better shades' and in moisturising textures that you can just slick on like a lip balm rather than with a brush. I wear Clinique black honey, Glossier Vila (a pinky/beige shade) and the Dior one that adjusts to your lip colour (Glow?) in a natural shade. Reapply when I remember to! If I'm going out for the night, then a more matt Bobbi Brown lipstick applied with a brush in a darker dusky rose shade.

When younger I wore lipstick every day religiously. I had quite the habit. Hundreds of them. From Chanel/YSL to Barry M.

Now I only do if I'm going out, which is almost never.

Can’t wear it to work as I wear a mask for the full 12.5 hrs.

Wear it everywhere else and touch up after eating/drinking or when I go to the loo.

I wear really bright colours - reds and oranges and hot pinks - at home and natural shades everywhere else.

I do put a nude shade on in the morning before I go out to work...to be honest it's barely noticeable so I don't really know why I bother 😂 and it's off by the time I've drunk my first cup of tea at about 9.30! I never reapply it! It's a habit I guess from my younger days, when I did reapply it constantly! I don't even have any in my bag these days...I'm an ancient old primary teacher in a school full of women, so not a single person is going to even glance appreciatively in my direction 😂🤦‍♀️🙁😂

I wear it most days and would maybe reapply at lunchtime, but mostly don't bother.

I wear a fairly natural colour. Just a bit redder than my lips

If I wear lipstick it's usually a natural shade (Italian Rose - Bobbi Brown is my fave), sometimes a sheer lip gloss.

For all day, I sometimes dab a tiny amount of Benefit lip and cheek tint on, and then don't reapply, just wear lip balm.

When I was WFH I didn't wear full make up but did keep lippy, blush and concealer to hand ready for unexpected Teams meetings - my laptop camera made me look like a ghost!

I don't wear make up much these days but if I'm going out to meet a friend or for drinks etc I'll wear it all plus lipstick/gloss. My favourites are natural finishes, so neither gloss or matt. Normally a pink shade, like a rose, I also like browny reds, corals and mauves. I've got all brands Mac, Clinique, Lancome, Revlon, Bourjois etc. My most used are my Clinique in Blush, my Rimmel lip liner in Miss Mauve and my Revlon chubby stick in Honey. For going out I go up a notch and wear a darker shade like a burgundy or bright pink or coral.

I do like liquid matte lipsticks too but in quite fussy. I rate the Bourjois ones and the Pupa i'm a matt lip fluid. The Pupa ones come in some beautiful brights.

I only ever wear Lipfinity by Max Factor (spicy, spiritual or iced). It goes on once and gets removed at the end of the day. Have been the same for as long as I can remember.

If I’m going out anywhere, and sometimes at work. I look dead without it. My go to shade is Mac Flat Out Fabulous, it makes my eyes sparkle (green eyes, very pale skin and dark hair) though I’m wearing Ruby Woo at the moment to match my new red shoes.

I wear some sort of lipstick everyday but don't always touch it up in the day

I tend to wear chubby sticks in pink or nude or I like the Clarins tinted lip balm or their gloss in a tube

I only now wear it for evenings out as it looks very ´done' for a day look. I like Mac Russian Red, but blotted away a lot.

Though for a day look, I do sometimes use an ester Lauder lip pencil in rose (a dusky pink rather than pale) to emphasise Cupid's bow, with some benetint lip stain and lip balm over the top.

I have a great lip crayon that was from Primark, it's the best lippie ever and lasts all morning. I bought loads and am just coming to the end of my stash and haven't found a good replacement yet 😭 So I put it on first thing and it's usually worn off by about 2 and I'll reapply of I'm going out again.
