Good quality plain tees

I’ll start by saying I’m not a big follower of fashion and have no real style, I lost my way a long time ago. But I have realised I look tidier and better put together if I avoid patterns and just accessorise better.

Do any of you have any recommendations for good quality plain t-shirts that I can fill my wardrobe with? I’m fed up with buying cheap things that either don’t wash or wear very well. I like them fitted but not tight and am definitely not a fan of the boxy sort of look I keep seeing in shops, I have a large-ish chest but an ok waistline so anything too baggy makes me look enormous.

I like the Uniqlo ones. They are nothing spectacular in shape, but they have loads of colours and the wash and wear very well.

Cos have some lovely heavyweight cotton tees and do different fits, including slim fit.

Superdry surprised me recently. Thick cotton plain t shirts in lots of colours, wash well, no logo.

I’ve recently bought a few from Land’s End. They come in various necklines, loads of colours and wash really well. I’ve been very pleased with them.

Uniqlo

Depends on whether it's a classic round neck at shape you are after but my best recent purchases were from Phase Eight - a navy one with a boat neck and slightly puffed sleeves and a black one with a square neckline. Both plain slightly slubby cotton, nice weight, have washed well.

Arket are the best I’ve had

Rapanui ones have some stretch I'd say.

M&S have some good basic tshirts

I bought one from the White Company this year and I've been so impressed with the quality.

Agree with M&S, bought 3 white round necks ages ago and they are a good weight, , have stayed ‘white and have a good bit of twang to them (Lycra, I imagine) not too expensive and haven’t shrunk.

High street surprise - Next. Their £7.50 cap sleeved t shirt ticks all my boxes, including being long enough. I have it in 6 colours, and a couple of long sleeved versions. The original has had a couple of years of pretty frequent wash n wear (I love the colour) and is going strong.

Have bought really nice ones from Arket and & Other Stories recently. Both about £15-£20.

Not a huge leap in price but you can absolutely see and feel the difference.

I'm struggling with finding fitted options too. There's some nice ones on phase eight but they don't look very fitted unfortunately

I got 3 plain ones from Superdry recently and they're lovely, nice thick cotton so not see-through at all, early days but seem to wash well so far.

I like Landsend as well.
Kettlewell have an amazing selection of colours and styles, and identify if they are fitted, semi-fitted or relaxed fit.

I buy the scoops necked Rapanui ones, which are fitted.
