Anyone saving up their Boots points?

I currently have £23 on my Boots card and plan to save upto when I have £100 worth of points, even though I know it's probably going to take forever! There's a Dior perfume I really want and it's £90. Are you saving your points for anything in particular?

Don't - they're changing the scheme and will probably reduce the points value. Spend them while you can.

UWhatNow · 17/08/2022 22:08

Boots look like they are on their way out - I’d spend while you can!

woodhill · 17/08/2022 22:10

Typical, I've got loads now.

When are they changing it?

Ladyofthepeonies · 17/08/2022 22:12

I use the points to buy necessary everyday stuff, but whatever I spend in points I put in a pot to save for something frivolous- means I’m not stuck to one shop. But yeah always wait till I have a fair bit before I spend it

Pinkflipflop85 · 17/08/2022 22:13

I had well into the hundreds for a long time. Decided to start spending them and running the total down so as not to lose them if things go belly up for boots!

Arnaquer · 17/08/2022 22:15

I always used to save mine all year to buy my favourite perfume. Can't say I'm surprised they are in danger of going under, they don't stock any of my current favourite brands : up circle, q&a,

whistleinthewind · 17/08/2022 22:17

What changes are they making? I saw that if you didn't use your card for a year they'd remove your points balance - but that was June 2022?

90redbaloons · 17/08/2022 22:18

Oh no, didn't hear they were changing things, bummer :( I'll definitely spend them then before it's too late

I always save mine for Christmas shopping.

anewbook · 17/08/2022 22:26

Me too OP. I have about £31 now .. saving for a bottle of Chanel Coco Mademoiselle perfume!

Bit alarmed to hear Boots are in danger of going under though!! Not another one…

😕

Karatema · 17/08/2022 22:35

Oh no! I have over £100 worth. Will start looking to see what I want or my DDILs want.

Babysharkdoodoodood · 17/08/2022 22:44

Nooooo. I've been saving for a Dyson hairdryer.

Thanks for the heads up. I've been spending them as soon as I hit enough for free online delivery. Very handy for nappies

Georgeskitchen · 17/08/2022 22:47

They seem to be on their arses tbh, our local one seems to have barely any staff and the ones they have will ignore you for 10 minutes before deciding you might actually wish to purchase something. Superdug is better and they have a points card!!

Really why??

I wouldn’t blame the staff. It’s utterly shit for them, and anyone would be demoralised. Boots used to be a good employer until they got taken over by Walgreens.

TattiePants · 17/08/2022 22:57

I saved my points last year then bought myself an early Christmas present of Chanel No5. I have about £25 in points that I was going to save again but I’d better spend them now!

Abcdefgh1234 · 17/08/2022 23:03

I never use my boots points and one time i checked my points almost £500. Then i spend it on luxury makeup and skincare 😄😄😄 now i think i got £80

LostInSpaceRaiders · 17/08/2022 23:04

Yikes I’ve got about £280 - best get those nuggets spent before they go belly up!!

YorkieTheRabbit · 17/08/2022 23:10

I’ve just checked mine, I’ve got £58. I tend to leave them for a couple of years then buy something. I’d better have a look and see what I fancy

WeAreOnTheRoadToNowhere · 17/08/2022 23:14

I've got £68
Our local boots has empty shelves and few staff. I was thinking I should spend.
No idea what on. I would like a nice perfume. Any recommendations around that price. I love the smell of vanilla

Whycantibetangy · 17/08/2022 23:18

£117.62 not saving for anything in particular but a little concerned about the reports they are struggling.

smooththecat · 17/08/2022 23:35

justasking111 · 17/08/2022 22:52

Really why??

There’s a whole thread about their janky ass website and app, loads of us unable to order for months. I haven’t been able to complete an order this year, something always goes wrong. It’s a really bad sign, I’m braced for them to go under tbh. I don’t want that at all since we have no Sephora etc. and therefore no other high street beauty store carrying the drugstore through to high end.

bluesky45 · 18/08/2022 00:44

I just tried to spend mine at the weekend. Haven't shopped in boots for ages. Turns out they wipe your points if you don't use the card in a year or something. Tbh, since covid and we moved house so don't have a boots in my local town, I hardly ever shop there. I must have had loads of points. I was absolutely fuming. It's the only reason to shop there tbh. I probably won't bother again. Can get everything online or from Tesco when doing the supermarket shop.

CinnamonJellyBeans · 18/08/2022 08:56

They actually wiped your points? @bluesky45
