Holy grail mascara

Looking for recommendations for a holy grail mascara please. Non clumpy, defines, lengthens each lash, doesn’t end up under my eyes after a few hours. Suitable for contact lense wearers/ sensitive eyes. Budget - any. Thanks in advance!

I keep trying new ones but always end up going back to Benefit either they're real or roller lash.

Justturnitoffandonagain · 12/08/2022 10:19

I second Benefit, I love They're Real and always get comments about my lashes. I try other brands and none so far have beat this one for me

Sky high!

ReeseWitherfork · 12/08/2022 10:22

I like the benefit they’re real but for me, Smashbox super fan just beats it.

Lancome Hypnose

Edinlassy · 12/08/2022 14:50

Sky high by maybelline, for a even better result use their primer first. Gorgeous results

Purpleavocado · 12/08/2022 14:54

Personally, I find Benefit hard to remove with my contact lenses. I have to keep mine in until I've taken my makeup off because I'm blind as a bat, so you may not have this issue. I have the same problem with any 'tubing' mascara. I'm currently using Lancome, but find cheap brands just as good, like Maybelline, Rimmel and L'Oreal.

ZuliKyanLarsFoz · 12/08/2022 14:57

Second Lancome Hypnose. Ive tried a few others over the years but I always come back to it. The only other one that has come close is Clarins 4D.

NewIdeasToday · 12/08/2022 15:02

This hourglass one is amazing. And it’s a big tube so lasts for ages

Max Factor False Lash effect.

L'Oréal Paradise Lash. The only one I've gone back to several times. I also like Supra Volume by Clarins.

xogossipgirlxo · 12/08/2022 15:08

Loreal Volume Million Lashes. I recently bought Maybelline Sky Lash High and I am so angry at myself. Can't wait to go back to my favourite L'Oreal.

MyChipsDontLie · 12/08/2022 15:09

Chanel Le Volume is the best mascara I've ever tried.

Teoteo · 12/08/2022 15:11

Yes! I have the answer after a lifetime of searching using your exact criteria. It's Hourglass Caution Extreme - as a pp suggested.

Lancôme hypnosis is a good enough second but I'm afraid it still gives you panda eyes. The Hourglass one never rubs off or smudges (even in this heat) and the lengthening and definition is fab.

keeprunningupthathill · 12/08/2022 15:13

I find the benefit ones terrible. Clumpy and and you all over my face. The only one I've got one with long term is the Clinique one that tubes your eyelashes (can't remember what it's called) but it's brilliant.

Daisymaybe60 · 12/08/2022 15:13

Max Factor 2000 Calorie. I've used it for years.

Sally99 · 12/08/2022 15:24

Max factor Masterpiece Max.

iCouldSleepForAYear · 12/08/2022 15:41

Clinique High Impact. The non-waterproof one is maybe a bit too easy to wash off, but the waterproof one comes away with a decent eye makeup remover.

Has never irritated my eyes, even with contact lenses. Never any issues with clumping. The only reason I don't buy more of it is because of the price.

Used to swear by MAC Cosmetics Extended Play Gigablack, but have recently tried Lancôme Lash Idôle and I am a complete convert. I like long separated lashes, rather than thick, and I have quite curly lashes naturally. I find both of these can be applied lightly or built up for more impact, and they don't smudge or move.
