So has anyone tried Molecule 01 before?

Smells cheap to me

I can smell it on my skin (a lot of people say they can't smell it)

It's lasted all day. So good staying power

But just reminds me of D&G Light Blue but a bit more overpowering

Will other people be smelling something else? I'm confused over the hype!

It’s the only perfume people have asked me about. I can’t smell it on myself, maybe just a faint whiff if I’m putting a bra on that I wore the day before -yes, I do that.

You can get a tester. Like lots of people I suspect I got mine from Scentsamples.U.K. Which was linked on another perfume thread.

I bought it after reading about it on here.
I cannot smell it on myself. Now and again I get a whiff of when as if it was first sprayed.
I was so excited about it all and nobody has ever commented on it. Every time I get home my DH laughs at me the disappointment nobody has chased me around clearly shows on my face

Can't smell it on me or anyone else. As a result am convinced it is an emperor's new clothes scam.

I’ve just bought a 30ml bottle of it, off the back of this thread…. I’m expecting to be revered in the coming days…

Smelled like nothing much at all one me or DD1/2. So disappointed.

@Sparkletastic I agree. I can't pick up anything from them. I got a sample in an advent calendar and thought it was water!

I also got a sample to try, wasn’t overly impressed until just now. My 22 year old son who’s majorly into his designer £££s stuff said “ooh you smell nice”. I’ll take that as a huge compliment as he usually just grunts at me! 😁😁

I've got down to the last of my Libre and wanted to try something new. Years ago I used JPG Fragile but it was discontinued.

Decided to get the Molecule 01+ discovery set (£13 for 3 of the 8.5ml plus range online-great for bottom of the hand bag even if don't end up buying larger size I thought!)

For me, two of the samples (Molecule+iris and Molecule+patchouli are not my thing at all, found the patchouli too masculine (hubbie can have it) and the iris one smells like baby powder....nice on a baby not so much on date night!)

The molecule 01+mandarin well that's a different story! Absolutely gorgeous. I got little whiffs of mandarin on and off all day. Light but could tell it was there.

Very rare anyone has commented on my perfume so didn't really think I'd get the reaction some people do with molecule range. Within seconds of meeting up with my mum yesterday (first time wearing it) she wanted to know what I was wearing and kept commenting how nice it was all day. At this point thought it might be over powering but she said it not gag inducing! Just lingering around me.

Happy days , think I will invest in a bigger bottle of this one. 😁

Side note - Wish free or cheap samples were easier to get hold of. So hard to chose in department stores and airports as I go nose blind!

I got the larger discovery set with 10 samples ( plus 2 extras they added). It contains Molecule 1 - 5 plus the Escentric version of each one. ( which is more of blend not “ one note” )

I’m working my way through them. It doesn’t have the Mandarin one though so I was a bit disappointed about that because it sounds like my sort of thing. During the hot weather I was layering the Molecule 1 with a ( cheaper) lemony fragrance and felt that combination worked well. I think the set would make a great gift for someone… it was beautifully packaged.

Discovery set

I find the original nice but not very exciting.

However, similar to previous posters, I absolutely love the mandarin one. I'm a citrus perfume fan and this one is excellent, and has a bit more warmth and depth than most of my sharp lemony favourites.

I've tried the original and the perfume parlour dupe and both are excellent.

(I don't get any compliments on it - but I don't think I've ever had a compliment on any perfume I wear them for my own enjoyment, luckily)

When you say overpowering, what do you mean? I’m interested in this but can’t stand overpowering scents on other people. Like to be a hit discreet.

Smelled like nothing at all on me. I don't get it.

i bought samples off the back of this and hate the first one on me. It smells very sickly sweet and isn’t the sort of thing I go for at all. DH said it was ok but obviously he’s irresistibly drawn to me anyway…

DS1 nicked it and tried it to wear to a party in the basis of promises of women throwing themselves at him but returned home without even a snog.

Number 2 smells nicer on me but rather like lemony soap

I bought a 30ml of No1. I don’t mind it, it smells quite woody on me and on my DH. DH thinks it smells like Tommy Hilfiger…

I have only ever had compliments when I've layered Molecule 01 with another perfume. If you use it under another scent it gives it better 'throw' and longevity. I've done it a few times over the summer and been complimented every time, regardless which scent I have layered on top. Worth a try for those who have purchased but are unimpressed with it as a stand alone fragrance.

I have 01+Mandarin. It gave me a headache and I didn't get a trail of people following me either. I think I just have the wrong skin for it.

I enjoy molecule 01 - it's gentle and woody and although it can fade into the background, occasionally you get a waft of it and it's really pleasant. I like it as one to wear for wfh, it isn't distracting.

I got a few samples to try and I wasn't expecting this to be the one I finished first but apparently I keep reaching for it ;)
