If you use a shampoo bar what sort do you use? Do you use conditioner as well?

Thanks in advance 😊

I use Friendly Soap company for shampoo bar. It's good value and I like the smell.
I don't rate the conditioner bar from them though so am still searching for one that I like. On Sleek solid conditioner bar from Bomb cosmetics is good but a bit pricey.

Thanks, I looked at that but the reviews on Amazon put me off. Mind you, it's cheap enough if it's no good for me, don't know why I'm dithering 🙄

I’m using the Garnier one at the moment, it was half price at Superdrug. I’ve used loads of different ones and can’t see much difference between them. I’ve used solid conditioner but currently using a liquid leave in one.

dolphinsarentcommon · 04/08/2022 14:38

I'm using eco warrior atm.. on offer in Sainsbury's and even cheaper on Amazon. It's the first one I've tried and I'm impressed.

It lathers more than I feared it might and it's leaving my hair manageable and easy to comb out so I've left off conditioner for now. Curls are doing ok too.

As with most curly hair it can get a bit dry so I'm expecting to have to add in conditioner so am interested to see what bars are recommended (if any)

MirandaWest · 04/08/2022 14:40

I use Gruum ones - and after searching for over 3 years I’ve found one of their conditioner bars works for me as well 😊

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 04/08/2022 15:01

Just looked at the Gruum ones, you can try one free and just pay p and p which is good.

Gruum ones are lovely, I still use a bottle leave in conditioner but will try the gruum conditioner after reading on here!
I also really liked the herbal essences one but, when I went on to the gruum one afterwards I can tell that it's much better, if I didn't swim a few times a week I could probably go without conditioner with those ones

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 04/08/2022 16:15

If you order the Gruum one it costs 3 .95 only and they also email you a £5 voucher of your next purchase.

Lush Juniper or the yellow one by Ethique are both great

LookdeepintotheParka · 04/08/2022 16:32

I really like the Gruum ones and Ethique but Gruum are better value especially as they have regular deals on them. I don't use them everyday though - I find it works best for my hair to alternate the bars with a liquid shampoo.

Just to add that Gruum bodywash bars are also excellent and you can get packs of off cuts for a good price!

fudfootedfannybangle · 04/08/2022 16:44

I also use gruum and am very happy - haven’t tried their conditioner bar yet but given the positivity here I’ll give it a whirl. I have very fine hair so only use bottle conditioner every other wash.

doodlywoodlydingdong · 04/08/2022 16:49

We're got gruum starter pack to try on holiday. The white shampoo bar, orange body soap and black face one. Its so good I've ordered the full size versions.

Echobelly · 04/08/2022 16:51

I'm using the Lush argan oil bar at the moment - very impressed with it. It's last ages so far and there's still loads left. I was a bit skeptical when they said '60 washes', but it does seem like it lasts that long.

Next time I get conditioner, it'll be a bar - I wasn't aware of gruum, so will look it up. I'm very keen to minimise packaging so I'm going for as many 'solids' as possible for bath and body.

YellowFlowersGreenStems · 04/08/2022 16:57

I use Yorkshire soap company for both. I found them on holiday so order online mainly. If you ever get chance to visit the actual shop it's fab! I've been to the York one. You get a good lather off the shampoo bars but not so much with the conditioner. They leave my hair feeling nice though.

Itreallyistimetogo · 04/08/2022 16:59

Gruum here too. They are fantastic.

greyinganddecaying · 04/08/2022 17:02

I tried Ethique recently - their conditioner bar was really good

savvy7 · 05/08/2022 07:41

Another thumbs up for Gruum!

Mooserp · 05/08/2022 07:59

I use gruum too! Was put off trying bars for ages as I'd read they were a faff and didn't give good results. I have found the opposite. I wouldn't go back to bottled shampoo now, bars are so much better.

martinlily · 05/08/2022 08:09

thanks for sharing this, it is very useful.

TheVanguardSix · 05/08/2022 08:24

I used to be a Lush loyalist but was consistently disappointed by the quality. They were always crumbling into an unusable mess while there still should have been some life left in them (the smells are divine though).
I’ve tried others and been happy with them.
Alberto Balsam is the best one I’ve come across. Love it!
I’ll look at Gruum!

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 07/08/2022 10:32

I've just used the Garnier bar, really nice and I prefer it to using a bottle. Just about to dry it,will report back later.

Dried beautiful and feels REALLY clean,I've been struggling with residue and that's completely gone.

The Grum one is on its way so will try that too and compare.

KinKind ones are really good - small Uk bases business as well.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 07/08/2022 10:55

Didn't use conditioner just my Milkshake leave in spray one.

Very impressed so far, my hair has stayed nice all day and feels lovely and soft. Hoping the second wash is as good.
