Should I use Lush again?

5 years ago, I bought a face scrub from Lush- it started to itch my skin. Didn't go back to Lush. I need a body scrub now. Thought I would buy something from the Internet. Lush products came up in the search results. I ordered Cup O' Coffee Body Mask. I am assuming Mask and Scrub are similar?
My question is: do you think I should use the Mask? I can't be allergic to one whole brand, can I? Anyone here with bad experiences with Lush?

You were probably just mildly allergic to one of the perfumes or colourings in the first product. If you're able to cross reference those with the ingredients in the product you've just ordered, you'll be able to work out if any are the same and how likely it is that you'll be affected again.
I think the Lush website lists all the product ingredients so you don't have to faff about looking for the old label.

I would never go in there again, they are so woke their brains have fallen out, giving out binders to young girls which do huge damage to developing bodies.

Yorkshirebred · 25/07/2022 22:07

They believe that biological males can magically transform to females. If you believe that women and girls' safe spaces should be protected from those with male bodies do not buy from Lush.

sausagepastapot · 25/07/2022 22:08

I wouldn't shop there ever again due to the binder monstrosity.

LilianLenton · 25/07/2022 22:10

I wouldn't shop there as they bullied their staff into putting up with being sexually assaulted on the job.

Penguintears · 25/07/2022 22:12

Another one here who no longer shops at Lush due to their misogyny.

NiqueNique · 25/07/2022 22:12

Nasty company.

MichelleScarn · 25/07/2022 22:16

Walking past it gives a migraine, the chat from the poor staff who are forced to interact the way they do makes it worse!!

nocoolnamesleft · 25/07/2022 22:18

I like some of their stuff. But haven't bought anything from them in several years because of their stance towards women and girls.

whiteroseredrose · 25/07/2022 22:24

All of the above, but Lush also triggers my asthma. All that colour and over use of fragrance is asking for a skin reaction.

Discovereads · 25/07/2022 22:28

LUSH is a powerful cocktail of chemical soaps, artificial perfumes and dyes probably toxic if accidentally consumed. With my asthma and allergies, I cannot even go in their shops, it is that bad. Their “natural” is just green washing marketing hype. They are anything but natural. So if you’ve unsurprisingly reacted to one of their lab experiments gone wrong, I would personally steer clear in future.

countrypunk · 25/07/2022 22:35

I will never ever again shop with Lush after the binders fiasco. And I used to like a lot of their stuff.

FionnulaTheCooler · 25/07/2022 22:39

I avoid Lush like the plague now due to their overly aggressive selling techniques, you can't walk 2 steps in store without an assistant being in your face trying to push different products on you.

Me too.

Tabasco007 · 25/07/2022 22:43

Was going to say the same As everyone above OP, maybe not the responses you were expecting!

xalo · 25/07/2022 22:45

Never shop in Lush! Terrible company in so many ways.

wherearebeefandonioncrisps · 25/07/2022 22:47

An horrendous company that needs shutting down due to its policies and it's purveying noxious fumes. Oh, as well as the hovering harridans.

RoseMartha · 25/07/2022 22:50

I wont shop there. My dd tried a tester product from there in the shop a few years ago and she began to swell up immediately.

They did apologise.

Thestoppedfan · 25/07/2022 22:52

I’ve avoided lush since the anti police campaign in 2018

NotAGirl · 25/07/2022 23:02

If you were allergic before I personally wouldn't risk it.

Lush - Toxic products, toxic company

Mydogatemypurse · 25/07/2022 23:06

God i had no idea about all this controversy
I just find it uncomfortable... the smell, the unwanted conversations with staff.
For what it's worth I had a lovely body scrub from superdrug. A vitamin e one.

This.

I stopped when they decided to go on some piss arse crusade to stealth breast binders to young girls.

Penguintears · 25/07/2022 23:07

You can make your own body scrub really easily. Just put sugar in your shower gel. Job done.

Penguintears · 25/07/2022 23:08

Sorry I see you said face scrub but same thing. Sugar in your facial wash. Another good one is crushed up aspirin as it contains salycilic acid and is a good exfoliator. Cheap as chips.
