Should I use Lush again?

5 years ago, I bought a face scrub from Lush- it started to itch my skin. Didn't go back to Lush. I need a body scrub now. Thought I would buy something from the Internet. Lush products came up in the search results. I ordered Cup O' Coffee Body Mask. I am assuming Mask and Scrub are similar?
My question is: do you think I should use the Mask? I can't be allergic to one whole brand, can I? Anyone here with bad experiences with Lush?

For body scrub I like the dove ones in a tub, or the frank body scrubs (go for a not coffee one as it's less messy!)

Another one who avoids Lush due to the binder scandal. Which is a shame as I used to love shopping in Lush, I know everyone says the smell gives them a headache but I love it! I do also love the smell of petrol though.

DinosaursEatMan · 25/07/2022 23:33

I’m never setting foot in there again either.

They're on the boycott list in this house. Disgusting company.

Kanaloa · 26/07/2022 08:04

I wouldn’t shop there due to them handing binders out/their trans activism, but even if they didn’t do that I wouldn’t shop there because I hate their sales attitude. I have actually said before ‘I’m just looking and I don’t need help’ and they continue to harass. It’s really an almost bullying shopping experience. I also had to pull my arm away from one lady who grabbed it and went to put cream on it. I just sort of barked ‘I said NO’ and walked off. You’d think a company who are so ultra woke would at least have the common sense to listen to people shopping at their store.

MrsDamonSalvatore · 28/07/2022 09:05

I refuse to shop there because of their politics. Not just that, but the smell from the shop is so unbelievably strong it stinks out that entire area of the shopping centre. Scents/ aromas (presumably artificial) that strong can’t be good for the skin can they?

WaveyHair · 28/07/2022 09:13

Nope. Too smelly, in your face staff & woke politics. So many others options out there, especially online. Q&A, Up Circle, Evolve etc.

blackgreywhite · 29/07/2022 08:18

The products seem to be made out of toxic waste so I'm not surprised your skin reacted badly to it.

Apart from all the toxic culture (see other posts) didn't they bully their staff into working naked - as an empowering action?

I mean, the mind boggles that they still exist as a company.

xogossipgirlxo · 29/07/2022 09:52

Their products are advertised as natural, but scents are so strong, I just can't stand them. You'd be better off doing even your own scrub at home. I didn't know they give chest binders to girls, this is even more NO NO to me.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 29/07/2022 18:34

I think they are incredibly overpriced and was a bit O_o at that time they were asking their staff to kiss strangers. It must be bloody awful working for them.

Superdrug scrubs are really nice as people up thread have mentioned. You can also make your own with salt, coffee grinds etc.

Nope. Won't buy anything from them. Awful company.

IheartJKRowling · 29/07/2022 18:44

Another one who will never step foot in there. I hope they go bust. They are on my no shop list together with the Body Shop and Monsoon amongst many others.

Happy to get women to spend money on their products then stab then in the back by telling them they are less important than a few noisy TRA's. They can fuck off to the far side of fuck and then keep going.

Ontomatopea · 29/07/2022 20:54

I wouldn't risk it

CuriousCatfish · 29/07/2022 20:59

I like to shop in lush just to piss off people who use words like 'woke'

Ohjustboreoff · 29/07/2022 21:41

I know I'm late to the party but Lush's politics are horrendous and they shove them down your throat.

Carlycat · 30/07/2022 01:55

On my boycott list too. They can shove their misogyny up their woke bath bombs

SushiShopSearch · 30/07/2022 06:59

I stopped shopping at Lush due to their breast binding for young girls carry on and their general political stance on "gender". Won't go there or Body Shop.
