@WestrayWife I've been exploring the come back of wide leg jeans as well. How long are yours in the leg? They look great. I'm struggling to find a balance between far too look and cropped - I don't really want more cropped ones.

Hi all!

I fell off the thread again.🤦‍♀️ We've been in the thick of putting our house up for sale and looking for a new place, so things have been a bit manic. The house sale bit was easy, the house purchase has been harder, but we've finally found somewhere that we love and all seems to be going smoothly for the moment touch wood. I'm tentatively hoping we'll be in by Christmas but I'm trying to keep a level head. Means I'm going to have to be shopping my wardrobe more soon, though, as no spare cash for new clothes for a while!

@Sooverthemill you asked whereabouts in Wiltshire we are when I last posted - we're actually around Salisbury at the moment, but moving to be a bit closer to Bath. Salisbury is nice, though, I'll miss it. How long were you here for?

I feel like I've missed so much, but everyone looks great, as usual! I'm quite enjoying the transition to more autumnal clothes again. Autumn and winter are definitely my happy place, but I've quite enjoyed summer dressing this year.

I haven't been very good about photographing my clothes recently, but going to try to be better as I've slipped into a comfy clothes rut again. I'm forgiving myself today, though, as we've been away in the Lake District this weekend and drove home yesterday when the M6 was closed - finally made it home after 10hrs in the car (should have been 5!) so I'm feeling pretty shattered.

Anyway, a few outfits from recently that I did remember to photograph!

Clothes for a wander in Keswick at the weekend (much cooler up there than it is here in Wiltshire!)

Coat - DLX (super chuffed with this, I've been looking for a waterproof down coat for a while and this one was reduced from £240 to £47.99! Liked it so much I went back and got one for my Mum as well, hence the one on the wall! 😂)

Thank you! 😊 There were only size 16s left in the shop. I'm a size 10-12 and it's definitely big on me, but not in a way that makes me look swamped, I don't think. I'd say it's true to size if you want a closer fit, though. To me, it just looks like a big, warm jacket in the bigger size, and because it's a puffer style I don't think it being oversized is that noticeable. I bought it to replace my old dog walking/horse riding coat that isn't very warm and has lost its waterproofing, so I wasn't too bothered on how it looks - although I actually do really like it - can confirm it's very breathable, warm, and waterproof!

@toastfiend I was born in Salisbury and my parents always lived there. I left for uni age 18 but went back frequently until my dad died in 2915. My mum in 1996. My youngest sister stayed for years until her Army DH was posted to very close to where I lived in 1999. We sold mum and dads house in 2016 and it makes me very sad my connection has now gone. The last aunt died last year. My mum worked for MOD too

I got the "small" length, but on me (5'4") they are just about right. I also have problems with shoes though...

It is indeed a beautiful morning! DH having covid and actually being pretty unwell has slightly taken the edge of it though..

I really need somewhere with better lighting to take photos! The jumpsuit is a lovely green colour. I realised I’d been feeling a bit meh about my post-holiday outfits. Wearing something beautifully tailored has made me feel much better.

my H and M ‘knitted’ jumper arrived. Love it but is the colour a bit in your face. I can see myself in tights, black leather jacket and DM’s?

@EllaPaella I loved your wide leg jeans yesterday with the platform cons. They looked great. I am hoping to be taken to m and s on Thursday and will try the wide leg jeans there. Not that I need anything. Hope DH recovers quickly.

@Sooverthemill ah that's interesting. There's certainly a lot of Army/MOD around here, hence how we ended up here, although I grew up just down the road in Bath, which is why we're moving a bit closer to there (hopefully, if the house purchase goes through ok!) I'm always very impressed by your knitting prowess!

Utterly uninspiring from me today. I'm at a work event tomorrow so will dress up more then. I'm not totally sure about this jumper, I like it on the shelf, then I put it on and can't seem to make it work. I don't know if it's the colour being a bit insipid on me, or the shape, but I'm not totally sold. It is comfy, though, and a good weight and material for the in-between weather we're having!

What do you all think of these trainers? I'm trying not to spend at the moment, but have a John Lewis voucher from my birthday that I'm tempted to use. I can't work out if I'm just won over by the fact they're fluffy, though, but I've been wanting some high tops for a while. Concerned they might look a bit bulky and clumsy when on, though. I probably ought to buy something sensible for the new house with the voucher, but I don't really want to be practical with a 30th birthday present, and we're moving from our current house so should have most stuff we need (in theory! 🤣)
