If you could only ever buy your makeup products from one brand - which would you choose?

I'm also asking because I want to get the kits which work together hence aren't expensive. I'm a fan of Fenty Beauty and NARs - Glossier coming in there at a close 2nd/3rd. But if you could only ever have one makeup brand?

MAC
Oh god the pigment 😍

whysorude · 18/07/2022 11:34

Boots No.7. Most of their products are properly hypoallergenic and fragrance-free unlike other high end brands which claim to be but cause my eyes to weep. Not a good look on me 😊

IllDoItButOnlyForTheAttention · 18/07/2022 11:55

Bobbi Brown, as all my eye makeup, pressed powder type things and cheek stuff comes from there. But I'd hate to be without Missha BB cream.

Skincare would have to be Kiehls, but that would be a tough choice as so many lovely products in my drawer from elsewhere. But I do always fall back on the Kiehls moisturiser and Midnight Recovery oil.

£££ Chanel, Mac or Nars
£ Elf

That’s so funny @RaininginDarling and they market it as the gentlest of products. I suppose it’s a bit like baby wipes too, they get everything off anything yet we use them of the most fragile of skin

So true!

toooldtocarewhoknows · 18/07/2022 12:13

MAC

Good high quality pigment
Lasts for ages
Beautiful colours
Can mix products easily

Some of the bigger make up houses do a few things well and others are below average. But MAC consistently perform above and beyond.

In a past life I'm a trained MUA

Wow, it's high end stuff. 83 euro for foundation. I love the packaging though. It's not boring.

Would you put a link in? I can't find anything called Wow other than an awful cheap brand and that's not €83 a bottle!!

deedledeedledum · 18/07/2022 13:00

Ohhhh you mean Pat McGrath. I'm failing at today!

FridayiminlovewithRobertSmith · 18/07/2022 15:25

Pat Macgrath fans. Where do you buy? I’ve also bought a couple of things I liked the look of in the sale (and have been great) but I would need to test foundation before commuting to buy.

FridayiminlovewithRobertSmith · 18/07/2022 15:27

Commuting = committing (sausage fingers)

Splicebaked · 18/07/2022 15:32

Lancôme
Chanel
Boots No 7

In larger department stores she has concession stands. Not sure which ones off the top of my head but probably Selfridges, Harvey Nicks, JL

AbsoluteShambles · 18/07/2022 15:39

Hourglass. Followed by Nars!

MorrisZapp · 18/07/2022 15:40

Giorgio Armani

tigerbear · 18/07/2022 15:41

KOSAS
Their concealer is amazing!

UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter · 18/07/2022 16:13

Make up nars or Bobbi brown they just suit my 46yr old skin

skincare clarins.

FridayiminlovewithRobertSmith · 18/07/2022 16:27

Thanks @Splicebaked will take a look next time I head into town. 🙏

PringlePoppin · 18/07/2022 17:34

Tom Ford every time.

Tom Ford every time.

Love the foundation but I got a lipstick and the bloody lid won’t stay on it!

VladmirsPoutine · 18/07/2022 20:22

Interestingly no-one's said Too faced, Kat von D or even Huda beauty. Seems the old classics have it like Estee Lauder, CT and Chanel.

mobear · 18/07/2022 20:24

NARS.

karmakameleon · 18/07/2022 20:27

Armani for make up for me. I always seem to go back to them.

Skincare is harder. Kiehls get most of my money but there are quite a few things I prefer from elsewhere.

Justcashnosweets · 18/07/2022 20:28

Probably No.7
Or Collection!

TheGirlWhoLived · 18/07/2022 20:30

I’m a real mix and match with my make up… I’d struggle so much! Probably have to stick my lot in with Mac for make up- I’m a clarins girl for skincare though. Really not a fan of NARS and find benefit and too faced either GREAT or AWFUL

WOPTF · 18/07/2022 20:40

At the moment everything I have is Aldi dupes, Primark and the odd bit of higher end stuff here and there like my Guerlain from QVC! If money was no object and I was choosing one brand it would be Estee Lauder for Doublewear foundation and mascara, as I can always work with blusher, eyeshadow and lip stuff from anywhere.
Skincare I keep it simple so cleanser and moisturizer will do me.
