If you could only ever buy your makeup products from one brand - which would you choose?

I'm also asking because I want to get the kits which work together hence aren't expensive. I'm a fan of Fenty Beauty and NARs - Glossier coming in there at a close 2nd/3rd. But if you could only ever have one makeup brand?

It would probably have to be Nars as I couldn’t be without their creamy concealer but I’d also struggle without Erborian BB cream and Laura Mercier translucent powder. Oh and benefit’s brow products!

VladmirsPoutine · 17/07/2022 21:08

I'd forgotten Pat McGrath! I love everything about her but I just couldn't commit to all her products; I'd have to remortgage the house! But yes her stuff is great!

Skincare - alumier

DramaAlpaca · 17/07/2022 21:23

Boots No 7, definitely.

NeedASolution · 17/07/2022 21:27

Chantecaille for me but I wish it were something cheaper!

Trinity69 · 17/07/2022 21:27

All skincare and make up from Senegence. Make up stays put for a good 8 hours, usually longer.

tokyotea · 17/07/2022 21:29

Ilia for me

Mum2jenny · 17/07/2022 21:30

Clinique or Clarins, I can’t decide.

If it’s skincare and makeup combined, I’m picking Clinique. I use their take the day off balm, toner, spot treatment, DD moisturiser, and chubby sticks for my lips and cheeks. Not deliberate and I’m not quite sure how it happened, but I guess they’re just a brand that I trust!

The only non-Clinique items I use are lashes, brows, serum and spf but I think they do a good spf which is on my list to try after my current one runs out. Also I’ve used their cleanser before, it’s brilliant, but I need to use up my current one before going back to it.

I love Clinique too and just use their make up but I am fancying the skin care too. Thing is I worry about it being too expensive buying all the lot so tend to use mid price skin care. Does the Clinique last a long time and do you think its worth the cost?

If I could really only have one it would be boots no 7. Their foundation is better than anything else I’ve tried and I’ve tried pretty much everything!

Which No7 foundation do you use?

Yeah I only buy in the sale!

avocadotofu · 17/07/2022 21:41

Hourglass and Nars I think.

SkeletonFight · 17/07/2022 22:07

Dior

Same here - I might have to sell a kidney first though!

Vernonia · 17/07/2022 22:27

Lancôme because I love their foundation, mascara and skincare
otherwise no. 7

ShandaLear · 17/07/2022 22:28

Clinique. I don’t know why but it feels ‘clean’ and ‘less is more’. Simple and good quality.

BotterMon · 17/07/2022 22:33

Love Clinique and Clarins mainly because of their skincare products but have just started using some By Terry make up products as popped into local Space NK and am really impressed.

Isonthecase · 17/07/2022 22:38

Definitely Nars for the tinted moisturiser, concealer, and lipstick but it would be a sad goodbye to glossier body and brows... If we're just talking skin care I'd go sukin because their moisturisers are just so good.

TabbyCatte · 17/07/2022 22:46

L’Oreal’s foundation. Benefit everything else

Rina66 · 18/07/2022 02:11

Estée Lauder, I'd be lost without DW foundation, but I also love all the Doublewear products, lip pencils, eye pencils and the Advanced Repair serum. I think Estée Lauder also own most of the other brands I like, Clinique, Bobbie Brown, MAC, Jo Malone and Tom Ford.

spagbog5 · 18/07/2022 10:05

YSL for me as their foundation is the best I've ever used including Chanel.

TheMess · 18/07/2022 10:14

Make up: Hourglass
Skincare: weirdly, if I could only pick one brand, No7 or M&S Formula. I've got sensitive skin so have to mix and match but keep coming back to Sleep Cream, the various serums, and No7 retinol - all great, cruelty free, and well priced.

TabithaTittlemouse · 18/07/2022 10:15

Dior or Charlotte Tilbury for makeup
Emma Hardie for skincare

RaininginDarling · 18/07/2022 10:22

Ooh interesting thread! I don't know Charlotte Tilbury utterly saw another thread here saying the lipstick was good? I like red, it never stays on.

I've just moved to EL Double wear mascara, it's good! My friend used to work for Estee Lauder and cleaned her glass cabinets with Clinique 🤣 She says it's great stuff (same company) but not good for skin over 30.

Rina66 · 18/07/2022 11:28

That’s so funny @RaininginDarling and they market it as the gentlest of products. I suppose it’s a bit like baby wipes too, they get everything off anything yet we use them of the most fragile of skin
