Do you still look at yourself naked or is it something you're not comfortable with?

I'm fine with it! There are bits that I would prefer were different, but I perceive my body so differently and with a less destructive and merciless eye than I did when younger (I'm late 40's now).
I am thankful that it is a good weight and very agile/able. A lot of this has grown with me as I have practised yoga and mediation over the years, it is like knowing how to be completely at ease within the body, a feeing which flows outwards to an acceptance of what I look like also.

It will age and die with me. I can't give it a hard time for that. It has served me well so far and I no longer want to place unhinged demands upon it. Sadly, I loathed wit when young and it was so lovely. I suppose everything is a state of mind. When I look in the mirror now, the moods alter, but the baseline ok-ness is always there.

Zazdar · 14/07/2022 13:29

It doesn’t bother me.

EBearhug · 14/07/2022 14:25

I'm fine with, size 16, saggy (though less so since upping the exercise,) stretch marks and everything. I was fine with it at size 22, too.

FlorianImogen · 14/07/2022 16:02

Since I met my partner, he's made me see that my less than perk breasts and rather wobbly tummy are in fact quite appealing. When I was younger I really didn't like looking in the mirror and wouldn't wear a bikini. Now at 70 I do wear one.

I look at myself naked everyday as i have a large bathroom mirror! I'm generally ok with what I see ( I'm a size 22) however I am trying to lose weight, for my health more than anything.

CrowsEverywhere · 15/07/2022 11:13

I quite like myself naked. I can see I'm not model material but I hold a lot of affection for my body and what it can do. It looks good enough for me.

SirenSays · 15/07/2022 11:15

Oh I'm very comfortable naked and have a huge mirror in the bathroom. The best thing about summer is not having to wear clothes at home. Dreading winter energy prices when everyone will be saying Put another jumper on

FindingMeno · 15/07/2022 11:25

I avoid it.
Best covered up nowadays.

emmetgirl · 15/07/2022 11:25

All the time....not bad for mid 50s

Pyewhacket · 15/07/2022 11:32

Yep, still looking good in just what my mother gave me. I do have a few stretch marks but no celulite. I didn't breastfeed, well very briefly with my first and I've always kept in shape, even when pregnant. I don't eat much and never get time in my job anyway. I don't have to go to JCB for my bra's either. I guess its mainly down to genetics and looking after yourself.

brokengoalposts · 15/07/2022 11:34

I've lost 3st so yes I'm happy with what I see but want another 3st gone. However, at 16st I was fine with seeing myself naked too, I've always been comfortable with nakedness and don't really mind who sees me, not that I flaunt or do it deliberately, lol

Cameronnorrieisabitofalright · 15/07/2022 11:35

I wouldn't put that onto my poor mirror!

This is a wonderful post 🥰

And to answer your question… I love my naked body. I’m 33, a wobbly size 14 with orange peel thighs and butt, and a saggy stretch mark covered tummy. But I’m 3 months post partum with twins and I’m still in awe about what my body did (and continues to do now I’m feeding them). My naked body reminds me.

I’m aware I sound like one of those gushing, incredulous women whose enthusiasm comes across fake. It’s taken me a long time to accept I haven’t got an 18 year olds smooth, perky, tight body anymore.

monsterastuckiosa · 15/07/2022 13:12

I was a life model for years, both at an art school and for a specific painter and think of it as one of the best things I've ever done for my self-esteem and relationship with my body.

It's not a perfect body at all, but I see so much more in it now than attractive/not attractive – I see muscles and movement and character and lines.

Obviously not something to dive into if you're really lacking confidence, but well worth a go if you're feeling brave and would like to see yourself in a new light!

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 15/07/2022 13:21

I really don't have a problem with being naked. I'm not a fan of my thighs and the little overhang on my tummy but I quite like being naked.

KStockHERO · 15/07/2022 13:24

If I've honest, I love looking any myself naked Grin

I embarked on a new exercise regime last year which has changed my body hugely. I have never been so confident in myself or so happy with how my body looks. Spending a few seconds have a good old look at it every day does wonders.

Stupid auto-correct.

Classica · 15/07/2022 14:02

Two of my friends refuse to have full length mirrors in their bathroom or bedroom because they hate the idea of seeing their naked reflection.

My body isn’t exactly as I’d wish it to be but I’m happy to look at it every morning. The more you see it the more affection you have for it. I even got a hand mirror out last week to check out my arse from various angles. It looks good! Thumbs up to my bum.

TheOGCCL · 15/07/2022 17:39

I've NEVER liked looking at myself naked, nothing to do with age. There's nothing wrong with it objectively, I just don't think much of it myself - it's all very out of proportion.

XingMing · 15/07/2022 17:41

66, and I still quite like it! It's looked after me, and my DC, so I try to treat it well.

RelentlessForwardProgress · 15/07/2022 17:42

@KStockHERO Can I ask what it is you are doing please?

badgerbognor · 15/07/2022 17:42

49 and love my naked body! I think I look great!

chiffchaffchiff · 15/07/2022 17:52

Funnily enough I avoided seeing myself naked when I was younger and much slimmer. These days... I'm not so bothered. I used to be self-conscious in front of my DH but over the years he's persuaded me that I'm actually rather attractive (to him at least!). Last year he mentioned that one of his favourite things is the way I can walk from the bedroom to the bathroom naked without thinking about it anymore. When we were first living together I couldn't even get changed in front of him.

Confidence is sexy IMO.

Thank you and we'll done you - one is bad enough for our bodies to recover from, but twins, you're amazing!
