Vinted refunds

Has anyone had any issues getting a refund through Vinted?

Just had an order cancelled and a refund will apparently be made within 5 working days. However all the reviews on TrustPilot don’t give me hope that I will actually receive one 🙈

Vinted refunds

I have noticed a LOAD of fake sellers on Vinted now. Only selling one or a couple items. Super long random usernames, minimal description of the item and there is often a set of the exact same pictures posted with another sellers name just as dodgy but in a different size.

I'm glad I stumbled across this thread as I'm a regular user of Vinted and was going to list a ton of stuff this week that I've not got around to. Will hold off for now.

MotherOfWhippets · 10/08/2022 08:42

I had the same with the delayed payments happening to me.

I'm normally really good with my bank but I completely missed that my purchases were in pending and then disappeared - only to suddenly be taken about 6 weeks later which was a bit of a shock - technically I owed the money and that's fine - it was about £50 in my case and didn't cause me a problem just a headache sorting what it was for - but I think it's p*as poor practice to do this without as much as a heads up to people and there were a lot of upset customers on the forum where it had put them into an overdraft etc.

I've tried messaging CS on quite a few occasions - there really is no point.

I also had a parcel that didn't turn up at the parcel shop and I still got charged for it and they did nothing - it was only some shorts for my son so nothing major but imagine if it was a £200 handbag.

I stopped buying for a bit but I've started again with the odd but here and there as I find it so convenient to find what I want - I only spend > £20 though and if I sell something I take the money out straight away just in case as I have also heard the rumours they're going under.

MotherOfWhippets · 10/08/2022 08:43

That should be less than £20. Trying to be clever with arrows when you're unwell clearly doesn't work.

I'm having issues too but it seems to be due to UPS losing package. I have to wait until next week before I can raise a case but it's for something this weekend so all very annoying.

I’ve just emailed CEO to try and get the refund I’m due - fingers crossed he can work his magic.
Thanks for sharing his email.

Well I appear to now be giving stuff away for free on there, as despite posting & adding proof of postage I keep getting items marked not posted and the buyer refunded! Totally useless

TheLette · 01/11/2022 20:07

Vinted is basically a scam for Vinted to charge buyer protection fees whilst providing basically no protection at all. It's great when it works, but I wouldn't risk it for a high amount. Personally the maximum spend I'd risk is £25. I just know that if something went wrong, there's a good chance I'd lose my money.

appleyoudontevenknow · 01/11/2022 20:18

I'm so annoyed at Vinted. I sent a parcel to a buyer and they received it. Tracking confirmed this. But they didn't mark it as received so vi ted refunded them after 10 days. When I queried this Vinted told me to repost the item and ask the buyer to buy it again. Wtf?! I did everything right, yet they are putting me in an awkward position and asking me to chase my money. Needless to say the buyer isn't responding or buying the item again - why would they?! They've got it and a refund as well. So bad.

This happened to me last week. Furious. They've asked me to relist the item as ask buyer to pay again.

I’ve only placed one order, looked back through the photos and realised I’d misread the size so I cancelled. Payment was taken and then refunded the same afternoon.

Hi all

I just wanted to update, especially to @Alicedaisy888 that I've just filled with small claims court for the money that's gone missing that I mentioned on this thread.
I documented the 4 months of correspondence I've had with them where they admitted technical issues and then it's dried up.

I'll come back to this thread and let you know what the outcome is!
