Does this look ridiculous?

Please tell me honestly, as I just tried on these new jeans and my husband literally laughed in my face when I walked into the room

I think its the tshirt. I'm not suggesting a crop top but something shorter, with the hem stopping about where the waist of the jeans are.

redwaterbottle · 02/07/2022 12:27

They don't flatter your figure at all, especially in the bum area.

Nicolarer · 02/07/2022 12:31

OP I am no expert, but think you have a similar figure to me, an inverted triangle. Wide legged pants or jeans look great as they balance out your broad shoulders. They look fab!

Nicolarer · 02/07/2022 12:33

Just to add if you were to change anything. I would change the top to a plain colour V neck due to broadish shoulders.

JAPANLOVER · 02/07/2022 12:41

They are just very unflattering x

Easilystartled · 02/07/2022 12:45

A bit too long and a bit too baggy. Probably not flattering your figure as well as some might.
But they’re not that hilarious!!!

Easilystartled · 02/07/2022 12:48

I love my Levi’s 724. High waist, straight leg. I’m 5’9” and they are perfect.

summerdrinktime · 02/07/2022 12:51

Not flattering sorry. They're too baggy on you i think.

hatchyu · 02/07/2022 12:57

I think they look too long

ThirtyThreeTrees · 02/07/2022 13:07

They do absolutely nothing for your figure.

WhileMyGuitarGentlyWeeps · 02/07/2022 13:13

What a nasty thing to do. Sad Is he always so derogatory and derisive? He sounds horrible. You look fine @Quickncjust4this

WhileMyGuitarGentlyWeeps · 02/07/2022 13:14

Well, yeah, they're a tad long, but with heels they'll be fine. To laugh in your face is just mean and nasty.

Matildahoney · 02/07/2022 13:14

Next have some gorgeous flared jeans that would suit much better than these IMO

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 02/07/2022 13:16

I hate skinny jeans, and am loving that there are other styles more widely available to choose from now.

I’d roll those up to above my ankle @Quickncjust4this abs wear them 50s style.

CovidHasCaughtUpWithMe · 02/07/2022 13:21

They are too long yes.
Baggy well… they are wide leg!

If I’m kind, your DH is used to see you in skinny jeans so the change felt strange.
But his reaction was crap.

scarletisjustred · 02/07/2022 13:54

I think they look awfully unflattering. They make you bottom look like it's subsiding downwards - I'm sure it's not in real life.

I am an average height size 8 and I can try on numerous jeans and some look just awful on me. In some styles my legs appear to be practically hobbit like - probably not one of your problems! I think it's important to try on a whole range of jeans because even in the same "style of jean" there are different cuts. Even where the pockets are makes a difference in the look.

Bimblybomeyelash · 02/07/2022 19:17

They are very unflattering , sorry. I can only assume that your husband laughed in shock because you normally look fabulous!

Lalosalamanca · 02/07/2022 19:18

I'll be honest with you, as your husband was. They are awful. You are making yourself look so frumpy.

EvelynBeatrice · 02/07/2022 21:23

Cheeky beggar!

It's a real challenge to get the right shape for you after years skinnies. Maybe the 'right' slim leg. Try marks and spencer Lily jeans. Loads of people of different shapes seem to like them. Beware though. Sizing v different in my experience between colours and even the exact same version. They do a long too which may suit. Mint velvet cargoes also v comfy and flattering- but much more expensive

SkeletonFight · 02/07/2022 21:25

A man will do this because they don't know what is "fashionable" whereas we sometimes talk ourselves into wearing something like this. Far too baggy on your lower legs sorry.

TheOGCCL · 02/07/2022 22:29

These jeans don't seem to be any discernible style so aren't ticking any boxes. Baggier jeans like this need a higher waist so that they go in at your narrowest point. Agree flared would be better, or cropped.

DietrichandDiMaggio · 02/07/2022 22:35

I think some people are projecting in regard to your husband's reaction. He's not laughing at her, or putting her down, and if you can't trust your partner/family to be honest and tell you you look awful in something, who can you trust?
I would probably laugh if my husband came in wearing something I thought looked awful on him, as he would for me, along with some 'witty' comments. Though, if it was something I loved and actually liked on me, I'd ignore him and wear it anyway.

IfIhearmumagaintoday · 02/07/2022 22:38

Look on Asos Topshop for jeans!

Confuzzled19 · 02/07/2022 22:40

not flattering. I think you need a high waisted style, they cut you across the middle at the widest point and they’re too long x

Sisisimone · 02/07/2022 22:47

Sorry they are awful. Would be hard pressed to find any that were more unflattering!
