Help! I need a dress to cover my fat belly 😮

Hi I really want to buy some dresses. I’m slim all over but have a very bloated , large belly . The last time I wore a long skirt a lady asked me if I was pregnant 😳
the long maxi dresses also make me look pregnant . I have no clue about fashion / clothes . Can anyone suggest what style of dress covers the belly please ?

This dress is a bit marmite but it serves to illustrate how to disguise a belly,
It's patterned which breaks up any lines
it has an interesting neckline which draws the attention up away from the belly
It has ruffles or tiers on the bottom which aren't too voluminous so again draws the attention away from the belly

Oooh yes it pretty. I don’t usually wear anything with ruffles but it’s worth a try ! I like the long sleeves also

Look up the YesNo dresses on Amazon which someone mentioned on MN. They are cotton , and so easy to wear whilst hiding a multitude of sins!

Both available in various colours. The floral one doesn't really look it but it's quite roomy around the tummy area (hides mine well!!)

Got the same problem, slim but with a flabby belly. I've always worn skater dresses,hides my tummy.

Annoying isn’t it. I had a very large baby (9lb9) and ever since I can’t seem to wear anything . Trousers always to tight round waist, dresses and skirts make me look pregnant ☹️☹️☹️

I've always been quite slim but with a tummy - I find either short A-line (not gathered under bust, I always look pregnant with those) or flared skirt with a slightly high waistline work the best for me, so something like the waistline below (it looks very 'under bust' there but it's lower than it appears in this pic! Boden Ella dress)

Kind of as @SharlaShanti says, skater dresses are good - for me it's ideally with a slightly high waistline.

I don't have this but an older version with sleeves. The high waist works well as it skims over my big tummy. In fact I might buy this www.brakeburn.com/products/confetti-wrap-dress-ss21?variant=33021655220285

I also find that a skater style hides the tummy well, and a lower neckine so the eyes are drawn upwards.

I have this. Don't panic - it comes in dfferent colours! (Although I do have the "party leopard").

It's incredibly flattering.

Tunic dress is a good cut too.

Anything with pleats from the top down. Ruffles also are a must as it focuses the attention away from the belly.

I’ve never bought anything from Joules before but I love the dress @CharlotteSt linked to. Do you think these styles would also be forgiving around the belly area?

You need something like a tiered midi dress. Where the line sits above your stomach then flares.

I’ve just ordered these. I’ll let you know how I get on and if they disguise the belly lol
