£200 to spend on a bag - advice & ideas!

I've mentally assigned £200 to a bag.

Nothing patterned. Nice leather. Mid sized, shoulder not cross body.

I know I'm not in investment piece territory but I want to use it every day. Preferably tan leather.

What do you recommend?

These are in the Ralph Lauren sale. I have two of their bags and I’ve found them good quality. They are far less seen than Coach or Michael Kors. If you can afford a bit more, Coccinelle have some tan shoulder bags in their sale. They are also well made bags.

These are Coccinelle ones. There are more options. I would buy all of these. I like the first one with the grab handles that’s £276. It’s stylish.

Have a look at Markberg.com. It's a really nice Danish brand and I have several of their bags around that price point.

You could look on eBay for a good secondhand investment piece - I like Mulberry myself.

I can also recommend Russell and Bromley bags. They are a bit over your price I think but they are good. Longchamp might also have some leather bags in their sale. I have one of theirs that’s got a silver toggle fastener. I cannot remember the name but it’s a good every day bag.

My favourite shoulder bag is from Coach - The May bag. I've got one in black and one in multi shades of blue and cream. They have a sale on at the moment and some styles/colours are around the £200 mark.

Thats quite a distressed leather. Looks very lived in.

I would be surprised if you could get a decent high end bag for £200 pre loved. Possibly not in great condition for that money. Rather used looking. New at this price range is a better bet I think.

It's leather, lined , shoulder strap, roomy but not huge and was under £200. I love the colour myself but I think there are different colour options

APC got a great sale on at the moment

I love my Coach scout hobo. It had a shoulder and a cross body strap. Great everyday size and £177 in black in the sale just now. The shay is nice too.

It's the colour that convinced me! So nice not to just have tan/ black although I know OP prefers tan.

Careful with Russell and Bromley! There are websites that aren't the real thing. I was having a looksy and then I thought it was a bit off. Went looking for reviews and there were a lot of people complaining and then it just hit me how the prices were so cheap and some of the things were so plastic-y. They copied everything from the real site! I do mean everything.
You can usually get Coccinelle from TKMaxx.

Not designer but I have a lovely bag from Massimo Dutti which is excellent quality, they have some gorgeous bags in the sale right now.

Ended up with a Kate Spade. Was less than I planned so felt a bit cheated! 😂

I don't need another Mulberry and I'm not against black- I have black but I wear a lot of blue so tan works better.
