Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm - but cheaper?

TokyoSushi · 14/06/2022 12:15

I got the Emma Hardie Morninga cleansing balm in the M&S beauty advent calendar. I absolutely love it and still have a tiny bit left, but it's ££££ to replace.

Any ideas for anything similar, but slightly cheaper?

I really like the new Sali Hughes one.

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 14/06/2022 14:52

Clinique Take The Day Off (£25) is my fave. Unscented though so may not be your thing.

The M&S rose cleansing balm (£12) is a really good budget option. Has a slightly weird scent that is definitely not rose, but a v good cleanser.

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 14/06/2022 14:54

Haven't tried it myself but I have read reviews saying the Sali Hughes one stung their eyes. I can't be arsed using a separate eye makeup remover, I like a balm that does it all.

NoiceToight · 14/06/2022 14:56

I like the inkey list oat cleaning balm. Doesn't sting and takes off eye makeup etc easily. It's about £10 iirc.

I love the Emma Hardie one. Its on offer on Feel Unique at the moment.
I managed to stock up on Black Friday as I've no found one I like as much as this one!

Imabouttoexplode · 14/06/2022 15:58

The Aldi dupe is exactly the same. Hard to get hold of though.

TabithaTittlemouse · 14/06/2022 16:07

I nearly posted this recently but gave in and repurchased as I really love it.

Inthesameboatatmo · 14/06/2022 16:14

You will find the Emma Hardie cleansing balm is in a league of its own op. You will try to "dupe it" but you will ultimately end up repurchasing it.

Timwith2noses · 14/06/2022 16:16

Came on to say aldi dupe, I didn’t realise it was hard to get though. When using, I can’t tell the difference between the aldi and the real thing.

TokyoSushi · 14/06/2022 16:17

Oh some good suggestions here, but I thought you might say that there isn't really anything better, the smell, the texture, the way it takes everything off, the feeling after etc etc! I might just have to take a deep breath and buy it!

What does the Aldi duper look like/is called? Might be worth a go!

I use No7 and M & S Pure - think they're both £12. I was using Elemis but just get through it too quickly. Think I slightly prefer the No7 one, it's for dry skin.

Blossomtoes · 14/06/2022 16:49

M&S rose is good. So is Farmacy Green Clean - I actually like it better than EH, Feelunique is offering 17% off at the moment.

Lacura cleansing balm. Says no longer available. Typical. www.aldi.co.uk/lacura-cleansing-balm/p/709896460828000

Oh I should have known, it looks like Emma Hardie! 🤣

Aldi dupe is amazing. Only comes out at certain times of the year sadly.

redroses86 · 14/06/2022 19:54

The M&S calendar got me hooked on the Emmie Hardie too. I’ve tried loads of ‘cheaper’ options and never found anything that’s as nice or lasts as long. It feels like such a treat after a day at work that it’s almost worth it.

I didn’t like the M&S one at all, weird smell and texture.
There’s usually 20% codes places (M&S, feel unique etc) so I stock up when it’s cheap.

Alwayscheerful · 14/06/2022 22:10

Marks and Spencer sell a huge one , wait until you have a 20% discount code.
TK max also sell Emma Hardie sets.

beguilingeyes · 14/06/2022 23:28

I don't actually like the Emma Hardie one...it always feels as though it leaves a residue.
Clinique TTDO is very good.
The formula of the Sali Hughes one is being tweaked, but it doesn't give me any problem now.

trulyconfuseddotcom · 14/06/2022 23:37

I'm obsessed with the Farmacy Green Clean balm, live in fear of it being discontinued! A little goes a long way too.

Branster · 15/06/2022 06:35

The Aldi version comes in sale once or twice a year. Keep an eye on their website for weekly special buys and stock up by ordering online. Afterwards, they usually pop up in ebay for double the price.

Owlsandminnows · 15/06/2022 06:51

I had the exact same problem and did end up having to repurchase (and also wildly hinting for birthdays etc, scavenged an extra one or two that way!! ) if you do decide to go for it, it's often cheapest on websites like allbeauty and lookfantastic, also feelunique . One of these is way cheaper than the other, so check them all. My dad buys it for my mum off Amazon and is happy it's genuine.

As for cheaper subs, I tried M&S, they have a couple different ones and they work just as well but the smell is not the same. The Aldi dupe is fantastic and almost identical down to the packaging and the lovely cloth (the Aldi cloth imo is even better) but as others have said, it's so hard to get.

In the end I decided if I can't find the real thing - it's the gorgeous smell for me as well as the texture and performance and amazing skin results ( I also used it as a mask) then I would just make do with something that does as at least perform as well. So now I am using a Superdrug own brand which is usually on offer at £4.99 and has no smell but does the job just as perfectly and I use my EH cloths with it.

Good luck In your quest! Im going to be looking for some ideas myself on here!

SpaghettiNotCourgetti · 15/06/2022 06:53

I switched to a Junoskin one from Amazon - about £14 a pot and a similar feel. It smells of oranges and is very nice!

Owlsandminnows · 15/06/2022 06:54

To add its the Superdrug B.Melting Balm. It's back to £9.99 now . Just noticed the Revolution x Sali hughes one is on offer there for £11.98. I had never heard of that one til this thread so def trying that!
