Will this work for a wedding in the Caribbean I’m top heavy!

It’s a Ghanaian wedding in the Caribbean I cannot wait! No traditional dress code just bright colours. It’s July so it’s going to be boiling. Half the guests are coming from the states so it will be a rehearsal dinner, cocktail hour etc. is this too casual? I am trying to lose weight and it’s going ok.

It’s absolutely lovely and you look great, in particular boobs look fantastic

It looks a little casual imo for a wedding though, perfect for a rehearsal dinner and cocktails though?

iwanttobeasquare · 27/05/2022 11:23

I think you look amazing!!!! Love the dress

TammyOne · 27/05/2022 11:28

Perfect I think. Maybe do your hair with something colourful ( tropical flowers?) and wear gold or silver sandals not black.

anxiousatnight · 27/05/2022 11:29

That's fabulous and you look great. It is quite casual but I think lots of dresses like this can be 'accessorised up' for more formal events. I like the idea of metallic shoes, bag etc as suggested by a previous poster.

Looks lovely though and suits you so much.

Crazykatie · 27/05/2022 11:32

Don’t forget a big floppy hat to go with it

enjoy

WineIsMyCarb · 27/05/2022 11:35

In the same shape and size as you OP. This dress is fab. You need gold sandals as @TammyOne says and I'd get some 'wow' dangly earrings in the same orange/flame/tomato colour. And maybe a wrist cuff thingy.

WineIsMyCarb · 27/05/2022 11:36

Also maybe have it taken up a couple of inches to that mid shin level. Pin it when you get home and see what you think..... Just a thought

DaleTrimont · 27/05/2022 11:39

It is a stunning colour, and also the colour really suits you and so does the shape.
Just needs pressing, does it crease very easily? That might make it look more casual I suppose, but it you look glowing in it. Flowers in your hair maybe ? Or a hat ?

MorrisZapp · 27/05/2022 11:42

It's beautiful, whack up the volume with accessories and a glam sandal.

EachandEveryone · 27/05/2022 11:47

The hair maybe a problem as thats it newly dyed and blow dried which I cant do myself😯 its corkscrew curls normally. Im glad you all like it. Ive bought this for the day on the boat well, i cant decide which. Ive never even looked in Mango before as I thought the sizes were all small.

Ooh you look gorgeous in that dress! Perfect choice 👌🏻

SoupDragon · 27/05/2022 12:18

I think both dress and those sandals from your last post are fine. Some kind of accessory in your hair, metallic bag to match the sandals and some jewellery and it will be perfect.

luckylavender · 27/05/2022 13:26

Fabulous

sunlovingcriminal · 27/05/2022 13:37

Dress looks amazing! I think lots of styles this year are more informal this year, and it suits you so well!

It is also a dress you can wear again which I think is always a plus

Prerapher · 27/05/2022 13:59

Gorgeous dress...agree with others...gold shoes or sandals and maybe a bright scarf and a bit of bling too 😁

JingsMahBucket · 27/05/2022 14:11

@EachandEveryone a statement necklace would help the dress quite a bit. It’ll draw attention to your neck and cleavage (this is a good thing!) while giving a nice interruption to beautiful orange.

Amrapaali · 27/05/2022 14:12

Sorry it doesn't do anything for you. Colour is amazing- the cut and empire line not very flattering for your embonpoint.

Any dresses in the same colour that are more structured and skim from neck to hips? Any dresses with a "split" in the middle especially right under the bust is disastrous for my 32HH bust. Emphasises it too much IYSWIM

SoupDragon · 27/05/2022 14:17

Any dresses in the same colour that are more structured

A structured dress in the Caribbean in July is going to be quite uncomfortable unless you are used to the heat and humidity.

Yeah possibly 🤔avoid bodycon type dresses.

I was thinking more like this. A nice discreet V neck to emphasise bust and a not-too sharp waist. Still loose enough for movement and interesting sleeves

I've been to the Caribbean in July and I can't bear anything remotely fitted like that. It's a tricky balance!

Catrice · 27/05/2022 14:26

I think you look absolutely gorgeous!

EachandEveryone · 27/05/2022 14:30

I just love the fact that its cotton although im dreading the Spanx😀

I say embrace the corkscrew curls. It’s going to be humid as fuck so best to make peace as you know it’s going to want to curl.

Gorgeous dress! Spanx will kill you in that heat. You’d be better off in cottontails (like this www.bonds.com.au/cottontails-full-brief-with-lycra-ww1m13-blk.html?rtoken=ChM2MjM1OTQyMzM5OTE1OTI4NjQwEAIaAklWIgJQRCgA)
