I’ve been saving for a smart blazer to wear with jeans, I love this one and thanks to cookies it’s been stalking me around the internet for weeks.

I can’t get my head around how it will look with jeans though- is it too corporate? Too unfitted? They have styled it with some sort of grey knitted body stocking/worm suit so that’s not much help.

Obviously I can return if necessary. Just interested in whether people think it will work for what I want.

It’s lovely. A classic and I’m sure it’ll be in your wardrobe forever. You can definitely wear it casually.

Idhatetolookintothoseeyes · 26/05/2022 17:42

from the main pictures it looks like the shiny grey material they make boys school trousers out of. Sorry!

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 26/05/2022 17:44

No buttons🤷🏼‍♀️Surely something that expensive should have them? I’d find it annoying that l was paying that much for something without a fastening.

l get it’s about styling but it’s proper annoying.

FibbyJiggins · 26/05/2022 17:47

63% polyester, 33% viscose, 4% elastane

To quote Joan Cusack in Working Girl 'Six thousand dollars? It's not even leather!'

FibbyJiggins · 26/05/2022 17:47

'£350 and it's not even wool'

IvorCutler · 26/05/2022 17:48

I love the way Pernille Teisbaek wears blazers. Maybe have a look at her Instagram. I know the pants shot isn’t realistic for most but she pulls it off.

Oh … I really wanted to like it, for your sake - but … nope.

Did you notice the fabric content?

Or the bulky stitching?

Or the rather grim shape at the back? No vents.

And the colour is something a 1970s bus conductor would refuse to wear.

Sorry, OP, there’s a reason it’s cheaper than it ought to be.

But the good news is the sales are just about to start! You’ll find something better, I guarantee it.

Qwill · 26/05/2022 17:48

I’m not keen, and I’m imagining it with jeans and keep picturing Jeremy Clarkson!

minipie · 26/05/2022 17:49

Sorry I just see John Major. It’s probably nice quality and well cut but a very dull colour and shape.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 26/05/2022 17:49

It even looks dreary on the model. It's a no from me. There are so many lovely jackets why would you want one that looks like school uniform?

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 26/05/2022 17:49

And l wouldn’t be paying that price for something made out of plastic shit.

That should be pure wool at that price. With maybe 2 % nylon to make it hard wearing.

EwwSprouts · 26/05/2022 17:51

^^ Agree. Neither stylish or quality.

Despinetta · 26/05/2022 17:51

These are very good points about the fabric.

OP posts:
Despinetta · 26/05/2022 17:52

I like the shape though and lack of buttons (I never do blazers up).

hmm, back to the drawing board maybe.

IvorCutler · 26/05/2022 17:53

Have you looked at Frankie Shop @Despinetta ?

Rebelmcstreettuff · 26/05/2022 17:53

Looks the same as my 15 year old's school blazer 😜
Navy blue would work much better with jeans.

IvorCutler · 26/05/2022 17:53

Or Anine Bing maybe?

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 26/05/2022 17:54

I used to be a designer. That jacket has no back vents, no sleeve detailing, and I’m not sure the pockets are real. It also has no buttons.

This is to keep the cost down and get as much profit as possible. Which will be considerable judging by fibre content and lack of detail. I’m suprised they managed to line it! It looks creased on the back view. That wouldn’t happen with wool. Crap quality fabric.

DramaAlpaca · 26/05/2022 17:54

It's not great, tbh. Stick a badge on it and it would look like trendy school uniform. For that price you can do much better.

Aboutdamntime · 26/05/2022 17:56

Very formal. I don’t think it’s the right colour for jeans either.

godmum56 · 26/05/2022 17:57

Sorry, I don't like it and the fabric is a definite no

OverByYer · 26/05/2022 17:58

£350 for a drab grey blazer. I’ve seen better in the School uniform shop!

Ohsugarhoneyicetea · 26/05/2022 17:59

Jigsaw do nice tailoring with good fabrics (& all cheaper than that)

mnahmnah · 26/05/2022 18:02

I think it looks like you’ve borrowed your dad’s suit jacket. Sorry!

KirstenBlest · 26/05/2022 18:07

No buttons. No mention of pockets - might be mock ones. Polyester/viscose blend for £350?
No.
