Would you wear this to a wedding?

Obviously it’s white which is thought of as a no-no for weddings, but it’s patterned and nothing like a wedding dress so would it be ok?! Would wear with red heels.

Thanks

I wouldn't. I just think there's so much choice out there I've always avoided white altogether but I think most people will say it's absolutely fine.

Concestor · 23/05/2022 20:43

No I wouldn't. It's too white, and I don't like the flowers on it either. But mainly it's too white.

WillMySofaEverArrive · 23/05/2022 20:43

No. It’s lovely but a bit too much white.

Stichintime · 23/05/2022 20:44

I wouldn't wear that. Too much white!

Catcrazy83 · 23/05/2022 20:49

I’d wear it

artisanbread · 23/05/2022 20:52

I would wear that. Would probably put a coloured jacket over it for the ceremony.

erikbloodaxe · 23/05/2022 20:54

Yes I'd wear it if I wasn't fat.

PermanentTemporary · 23/05/2022 20:55

Lovely dress. I probably wouldn't, but I am sure it would be fine.

PurplePansy05 · 23/05/2022 20:59

No, I wouldn't.

Yes I'd wear it if I wasn't fat.

Haha me too!!
I would look bloody awful in this!!
But the dress is fine imo.

TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 23/05/2022 21:03

Its a no from me too much white, if there were more colour it'd be fine

CuriousCatfish · 23/05/2022 21:03

It's nothing like a wedding dress, so yes I would wear it.

SpeedofaSloth · 23/05/2022 21:04

No, too white.

rainbowunicorn · 23/05/2022 21:07

It is fine. I really don't think half of mumsnet ever go to weddings as there are a lot of weird ideas about anything with even a tiny bit of white. As long as you don't rock up in a white floor-length dress you will be just grand.

MissStarry · 23/05/2022 21:11

No I wouldn’t.

ElenaSt · 23/05/2022 21:13

As long as the shoes handbag and any headwear are not white I can't see the problem other than it looks uncomfortable.

Bellyups · 23/05/2022 21:14

Bit too white

Peanutwaffles · 23/05/2022 21:14

Ask the bride

fancyfrogs · 23/05/2022 21:16

I wouldn't, too white

Barrawarra · 23/05/2022 21:17

I’m not that fond of it personally but would see it as fine for wearing at a wedding.

MrsRinaDecker · 23/05/2022 21:17

I would. I would avoid long, plain white dresses, but I think patterned / midi / knee length is generally fine, especially if the bride is wearing a traditional wedding dress.

PestorPeston · 23/05/2022 21:17

Oh my gad, that looks just like a wedding dress.

NOT

If you are worried, ask the bride. MN is full of weirdos.

Lindy2 · 23/05/2022 21:21

I think it's lovely. I'd be happy to wear that to a wedding. Red shoes, bag and perhaps a jacket - it's not going to look like you're the bride, is it.

I am perhaps more relaxed about perceived wedding dress codes than some on here, but I think the dress is very nice and perfectly suitable.

catandcoffee · 23/05/2022 21:23

No too much white but I love it.

bcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyza · 23/05/2022 21:26

I would wear that to a wedding. At my wedding people wore white but I was happier that they were there. Don't understand the can't wear white as a guest.
