Argh.
im needle phobic lol, absolutely rubbish with pain I think. But I’m booked to get fillers on Monday at 3pm.
im having 1ml and going up slowly. I have the smallest top lip that disappears when I smile but I love wearing red lipstick :(

does it really really hurt? Does numbing cream work?

the woman is a qualified nurse/midwife as well.

I'm black and it's not racism.
It's not about big lips per se, it's inflated fake looking, sore looking lips.
Naturally big lips don't look like the fake ones! 🙄

I’m not sure they do. I think it is possible to achieve bigger natural looking lips but it’s a lottery all depending on how it’s done. My lips are big and I’ve been asked if they’re filled which is quite annoying

'It's nothing to do with tearing women down'

When you have done exactly just that. It's people like you that make people feel insecure.

It also looks shit when men get it done

Just make sure to tell your medical practitioner that you have an aversion to needles. They'll be used to that.

Best of luck

Insecurity lies between your ears. No amount of cosmetic procedures can fix it.

I wish people women would stop tearing women down when trying to fix an insecurity.

This was the post I meant to quote!

krill · 14/05/2022 13:39

I was wondering what you meant for a minute there 😅 @Blossomtoes

Blossomtoes · 14/05/2022 13:41

I know. I’m a fuckwit! 😂

The numbing cream should be this thick (the whole 5 ml tube) and put on an hour before. It’s handy that you can wear a mask at the minute without anyone commenting. Try not to talk as it will numb your tongue and eat before you go as you may not be able to afterwards.

It is still a little nippy but nowhere near as bad as I’d anticipated and I was pretty scared as well. Up until the morning of the procedure I was still undecided if I was going to go ahead. I had 1ml in my thin 54 year old lips and was terrified they would look ‘done’.

I had a bit of swelling (which I iced all the following day) but nine days on I am delighted. I can wear lipstick and you most certainly cannot tell I’ve had anything done. Just spent the last few days with my sister who hadn’t even noticed. Ignore the naysayers.

If she’s a qualified midwife she should be able to give you a dental block (needles in the top and bottom gum) that’s what I have when I have it done, was shitless the first time and still get nervous each time, had it done 3 times now. It hurts I’m not going to lie but for me when I can feel it in certain areas it makes my eyes water but I think it’s so worth it I love my lips x
