Does this top make me look boxy?

doingmyboxin · 29/04/2022 19:59

I feel that in addition to being under 5ft 2, I have a really short torso and am quite boxy.

I bought this top today, and now that I've tried it on, I'm not sure it does me any favours.

It only for casual summer wear, but I would appreciate some honest answers as to whether I should return it, or even if the regular fit might be better? This version is petite.

Thanks!

Not at all looks lovely

Purplecatshopaholic · 29/04/2022 20:07

From the pic I would say it works and looks nice on you

Greensleeves · 29/04/2022 20:09

No, it's lovely and really suits your figure.

backtobusy · 29/04/2022 20:13

Honestly I think it looks a little baggy and short.
I certainly wouldn't buy an even wider version of it. It already looks a little too large.

But it doesn't look bad and I only came to that view because I was asked to critically consider it.

snackcurator · 29/04/2022 20:13

It looks great! Where is it from? I'm also under 5'2 and would definitely wear that!

PurpleDinosaurpark · 29/04/2022 20:14

I'm no style expert & let me pre fix this by saying you clearly have a good figure. I don't think it does anything for you & it looks a little mumsy & dated. A decent t shirt would work much better imo

doingmyboxin · 29/04/2022 20:25

Any better with shorts?

I love that on you, it's very flattering 😍

I'm going to see if they have it in my size, I've been looking for something like that.

backtobusy · 29/04/2022 20:45

Yes, I do think it looks better with shorts OP.

HappyAsASandboy · 29/04/2022 21:09

Loads better with shorts!

LightSpeeds · 29/04/2022 21:12

It looks nice!!

user1506328491 · 29/04/2022 21:16

Good with trousers. Doesn't work with shorts IMO.

NancyJoan · 29/04/2022 21:20

You have great legs! Wearing the same colour all over, instead of a light top/dark bottom, will make you look longer/leaner.

Longfurry · 29/04/2022 21:29

AMAZING legs. I think I'd wear shorts every day if I had legs like yours.
The top looks nice.

WhatIsThisPlease · 29/04/2022 21:34

It really suits you and is very flattering.

It's a yes from me!!

FfeminyddCymraeg · 29/04/2022 21:37

Looks good (and I usually dislike a lot on S&B!).

Keep it!

RampantIvy · 29/04/2022 21:38

I really like it and I think it suits you with trousers and with shorts. It doesn't look boxy at all.

Brunonono · 29/04/2022 21:39

Looks great on you! I ordered the same top a few weeks ago (not in petite) but was definitely too short on me at 5ft9!

DurhamDurham · 29/04/2022 21:39

I think the top looks fine on you but that's because of your fab figure, you'd look even better with a top which wasn't quite so boxy and wide.

worriedaboutmoney2022 · 29/04/2022 21:40

Not at all it's a lovely outfit

catsonahottinroof · 29/04/2022 21:49

I sort of see what you mean, but I think it works with trousers on you as you have long, slim legs and slim arms. Not sure about with shorts, think that does look a bit boxy - much better with trousers.

CinnamonJellyBeans · 29/04/2022 21:56

That peplum is there to conceal. All it's doing is adding unnecessary volume and hiding your waist.

It's not an unpleasant top by any means, but you have a great figure and I feel you can wear something more fitted.

rahjama · 29/04/2022 21:57

Yes I really like it , not boxy at all

Itsbackagain · 29/04/2022 22:01

I think its lovely but imo could do with being a couple of inches, even an inch longer. Having said that for £20 I would still wear it.

doingmyboxin · 29/04/2022 22:26

A mix of replies! But each one appreciated.

For £20 it'll do me a few wears.

My stomach is my definite sore point, so anything too fitted or tucked just feels wrong. Unless wearing my scaffold pants, which I sure as hell won't be during the summer months!
