Hope you're back on the mend soon @Chevyimpala67

SOTD is Paul Smith Rose. A blind-buy win that arrived this morning. It smells lightly sweet and fresh with none of the suffocating powder of the rose perfumes of my childhood. It's a hidden gem.

It is, isn't it?
Glad you like it
You will not be surprised to learn despite my current state I managed a spray of 4160tuesdays SSOTPE before I left home!

FestivelyScent · 21/06/2022 17:57

@Chevyimpala67 😁 at spraying SSOTPE before leaving. We perfume people need our fragrant sustenance!

I have longstanding tachycardia (among other health problems). In my case, after tests to try and identify a cause (it's not due to covid), the Cardiologist prescribed some tablets which I take every day. I was told it is generally quite simple to treat, although I'm not sure if it's the same procedure when it stems from covid.

I've just had some beta blockers
And pain relief finally

CorneliaStreet · 21/06/2022 18:34

Tachycardia is awful. I have had episodes of SVT for years and it was only fixed by having a catheter ablation last year. It’s the worst feeling. Hope the beta blockers work quickly and you start feeling better soon.

FestivelyScent · 21/06/2022 18:52

That sounds horrible @corneliastreet. Glad you're better now, though.

I was given bisoprolol and sent on my way, and it seemed to work. I've been changed to another 'better' non beta blocker since then, and ironically this is causing the Drs problems as to what migraine preventer they can prescribe, so I've been going back and forth trying to get some answers but without any luck.

CorneliaStreet · 21/06/2022 20:42

Glad the beta blockers are helping @FestivelyScent but not good being caught between that and the migraines. My tachycardia was pretty bad but various GPs failed to properly diagnose it as it was sporadic and ECGs were normal in between. Eventually I was advised to call an ambulance during an attack so they could get an ECG while it was happening, but when I did they measured my heart rate at 214 BPM and took me into hospital pretty pronto! The A&E doctor knew straightaway that it was SVT. The catheter ablation was a very strange experience as they keep you sedated but awake while they have probes in your heart, but it has worked really well and I haven’t had an attack since.

I now just need to get the headaches sorted! I had a head MRI last week which thankfully was clear, so I think I need to go back to my GP and find some decent migraine medication.

CorneliaStreet · 21/06/2022 20:45

SOTD was MMM Coffee Break (I know you hate this one @Chevyimpala67!). SOTE is Kayali Vanilla.

Chevyimpala67 · 21/06/2022 21:19

Home
After 12 hours
No meds, no plan
What a waste of time 🤷‍♀️
I feel so ill 🤒 😷 🤧

CorneliaStreet · 21/06/2022 21:26

Oh no, sorry to hear that, hope you manage to get some rest tonight.

God, its awful @Judystilldreamsofhorses you were spot on!
I've Showered (well I stood there..) and taken some codeine.

Mrcpy · 21/06/2022 22:02

Take it easy @Chevyimpala67 - it sounds like a terrible experience! Hope you get some sleep tonight.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 21/06/2022 22:19

Just catching up - so sorry to hear you are struck down @Chevyimpala67 . It is the most ill I have ever been in my adult life, just the pits.

sOTD Chanel 19.

FestivelyScent · 21/06/2022 22:28

How frustrating the hospital weren't much help. You must be exhausted after all that @Chevyimpala67 Hoping you get some rest tonight. 💐

I know they are busy but I was left in a room and basically forgotten
I asked for pain relief and was told I'd refused it...that was the woman in the room before me!
I don't think they even knew why I was there...
Awful

Mrcpy · 21/06/2022 22:34

Forgot to say, SOTD Chanel 22

FestivelyScent · 21/06/2022 23:16

That sounds awful @Chevyimpala67 It is exhausting trying to secure treatment from staff who are constantly thinking of the next patient, task etc. I have some absolute horror stories from my many times in hospital and A&E to the extent I point blank refuse all hospital admissions now. There were also many many occasions of outstanding care, but unfortunately it is the horrible experiences that stick in your mind. I've found the level of treatment you receive really varies depending on the shift and staff on call - which is a bit scary tbh! Even before covid they were so overstretched, I can only imagine it is worse now.

It took them a while to diagnose my tachycardia too, @CorneliaStreet but once they did, they seemed to know what to do.

Being sedated but mostly alert for procedures is really quite scary. I experienced it for two very invasive procedures and was so glad a nurse was by my side trying to distract me. Thankfully the sedation makes your memory a bit fuzzy - I wouldn't love to recall them in any great detail, or worse, in my dreams! 😑

Yes it is...exhausting

FestivelyScent · 21/06/2022 23:36

Hope you can get some rest tonight @Chevyimpala67

SOTD has been Miss Dior. I have been returning to almost the same three or four well worn scents on a rota this past week - I'm feeling so tired and run down I don't really fancy exploring. Must revive my perfume spirits.

On that note, I have a Perfume Parlour order that's been dispatched and will hopefully arrive tomorrow. Am really looking forward to trying the Kayali Vanilla dupe . 😊

ferretface · 22/06/2022 11:45

Hope you're on the mend very soon @Chevyimpala67 , sounds awful :(

Today I am trying out Creamy Apple Crumble by 4160 Tuesdays (this will be a theme over the next week as I work through my samples). I have a soft spot for gourmands and I do really like this one, as the name suggests it's a sweet and soft pile of sweet stewed apple and pale vanilla custard. At times I also detect a kind of toasted coconut note, like macaroons, which I'm enjoying. It doesn't go plasticky which is good, just stays soft and sweet.

ferretface · 22/06/2022 11:47

eta - that should be creamy vanilla crumble, it's my own mind inserting the stewed apple!!

CorneliaStreet · 22/06/2022 11:58

I really want to try Creamy Vanilla Crumble @ferretface. I did actually order a sample as part of a set a while back but they accidentally sent me Over the Chocolate Shop instead (which I hated, can't stand chocolate notes). I'm planning another 4160 samples order at some point so will try again then.

I've just picked up a set of Armani Si minis from Boots - 4 x 7.5ml of the original, Fiori, Passione and Intense. It was £20, which I thought was a pretty good price. I love the original and keep hearing good things about Fiori in particular.

I've also ordered a mixed fragrance discovery box from Cult Beauty, £20 again and contains perfume minis, a couple of little scented candles and some hair fragrance. My perfume buying ban is going well!

Hope you managed to get some sleep last night @Chevyimpala67 and are feeling a bit better today.

ferretface · 22/06/2022 12:18

@CorneliaStreet I am tempted by that Cult Beauty set too 🙈

Chevyimpala67 · 22/06/2022 14:29

I feel dreadful:(
The sore throat is horrendous
No perfume today - that's how bad I feel :(

peridito · 22/06/2022 14:56
