I’ve bought this lovely dress. I hope my DH likes to see me in it.

I like it.(there's a current dress thread which I haven't posted on but every single poster is raving about but which I think is hideous) I'm very fond of Quakerish dresses.

Whether or not my husband likes them, or anything else I buy to wear, is beyond irrelevant. Oddly my son thinks my Quakerish dresses are pretty cool- not that his opinion carries any more weight than my husband's.

Daffodilsdance · 26/04/2022 21:56

Oooh yes , I’ll have one in every colour 😀

smakph · 26/04/2022 21:58

How rude is everyone..
the dress is beautiful.
I think it’s shapely as it makes its own shapes Smile

If I stuck to only buying clothes my DH liked, I’d be sat here in an Arsenal strip and a welder’s helmet.

Buy what you like, wear what you like, I don’t think anyone really cares.

😂😂😂 love this!

Snog · 26/04/2022 22:23

I really like it - it's cottagecore surely?

SquirrelG · 26/04/2022 23:36

I'm not keen on the neckline, and if I wore it I would look pregnant, but it's not as hidious as many of you are suggesting. Mind you, I find many on MN still think we should all be wearing skin tight clothing - yuk!

IamEarthymama · 26/04/2022 23:39

I love it!
This is the style that I wear, it’s very different to fashion trends but it makes me so happy.
I have a navy Georgette Heyer heroine coat that I adore.
I wear net petticoats too!
I am a lost Style case but I give no fucks what anyone else thinks!

GuppytheCat · 26/04/2022 23:40

I want to see a Georgette Heyer heroine coat now

MrsMoastyToasty · 26/04/2022 23:43

It's a bit "Little House on the Prairie ".

Eightiesfan · 26/04/2022 23:57

I’m sure that will look great at the Amish Ball…

KirstenBlest · 27/04/2022 00:00

I like it and would wear it.

Many years ago, I wore a dress that would be fashionable today - loose and tiered, with a vintage print. My then boyfriend when I wore it the first time said 'That dress isn't, um. sexy'. I didn't wear it again. I should have binned him instead.

Staffy1 · 27/04/2022 00:13

Doesn’t look any worse than any of the other hideous, floaty dresses that seem to be fashionable now.

GreenClock · 27/04/2022 00:23

That Arsenal strip comment was brilliant!

The dress is ok.

starfishmummy · 27/04/2022 00:25

Is it April Fools Day??

blueshoes · 27/04/2022 00:33

How much did you pay for it?

Lessofallthisunpleasantness · 27/04/2022 00:35

Very Big Love!

NaturalScone · 27/04/2022 01:35

DAiLY TWAT?

milkyaqua · 27/04/2022 02:54

You're having a larf, right?

Eggshelly · 27/04/2022 05:58

Don't buy stuff just to please your husband. If you love it that's what matters.

Billandben444 · 27/04/2022 06:33

You see, on that basis, I’d go everywhere in stiletto heels and a baby doll nightie….but I’d get some bloody funny looks on the school run 🤣🤣
Ha ha! Compare it to the pink baby doll one someone thinks is suitable wedding attire on another thread - guess which one hubby would vote for!

Oh that pink one is an absolute horror. That isn't the dress I was thinking of in my earlier post but there is another horror which is being widely praised.

Cocobeau · 27/04/2022 08:44

I saw one similar to this in the window of H&M recently and remember thinking who the fuck would wear that? Now I know.

Testina · 27/04/2022 08:48

I feel you. Single most important thing in choosing a new dress: what my husband thinks of it 🙄

😂

I wouldn't say I'm indifferent to it.

toomanytwinkies · 27/04/2022 08:51

I don’t think you can ever win on here OP

A previous OP put a form fitting dress up recently and was told it was cheap and trashy. This is too shapeless and frumpy.

You have to wear something close fitting enough but not too tight it seems.
