I know we should wear what we want no matter what our age is, but humour me - what's the max age to wear this dress?

I’d wear it with my DMs and leather biker jacket. I’m 45

Everydaydayisaschoolday · 23/04/2022 11:10

It's hideous but properly styled as people have suggested here I think it's pretty ageless.

I can see your point that it looks like a toddlers dress but worn with non-toddlers accessories it would be fine.

Branleuse · 23/04/2022 11:17

I think maybe 10 or 11

Littleguggi · 23/04/2022 11:18

Reminds me of something my 5YO wore last Christmas

Cheesechips · 23/04/2022 12:00

I'm 37 and I'd wear it.

ImTheFuckOffCar · 23/04/2022 12:00

I would wear it, I don’t think it’s inappropriate for any age.

BiggerBoat1 · 23/04/2022 12:00

I'd say about 11.

Krakenchorus · 23/04/2022 12:04

I could see someone in their 70s wearing it well. Or someone aged 7. Me... never.

Snoopsnoggysnog · 23/04/2022 12:06

Ages 7
it’s the collar and cuffs
very twee

I'm 65 and I'd wear it with black opaque tights and biker boots.

CuddlyCactus · 23/04/2022 12:17

12

PeaceLurking9to5 · 23/04/2022 12:20

That peter pan collar is cute on a young girl and formal and iris apfel or mary quant on an older stylish woman, it's those ages inbetween 35 and 65 than would make me avoid that collar

It's less to do with age and more to do with context.
It's the sort of dress Claudia Winkelman would wear on Strictly. Or Gemma Coleman on Dr. Who. Or my late grandmother for her day trips Or a primary school child for a posh event.
Me, going down the shops on a Saturday morning not so much.

Her name is JENNA Coleman.

OP there is no age limit for fashion. If you feel comfortable wearing it, wear it. Don't talk yourself out of it if you like it.

Fizbosshoes · 23/04/2022 12:21

I'm early 40s v short, size 8 with small boobs. I think it would look OK with black tights and boots or brogues.
Would I wear it? Probably not, but I don't think it has a particular age limit.

dworky · 23/04/2022 12:27

2+

balalake · 23/04/2022 12:27

I don't think there is, just what you wear with it.

Rubyroseyposey · 23/04/2022 12:46

I'm 31 I wouldn't wear it, not my taste but seems fairly inoffensive and ageless.

Itsbackagain · 23/04/2022 12:49

8?.

ILoveShula · 23/04/2022 12:53

Any age.
You'd need a trim figure to get away with the check

Joolsin · 23/04/2022 13:02

I would absolutely wear it - with black woolly tights and black DMs. I really like the Wednesday Adams style of it and I would feel very confident wearing it (I'm in my 50s).

tuliplover · 23/04/2022 13:07

I suppose with dark tights an older person could get away with it. Looks a bit prissy though.

JeSuisFattyGay · 23/04/2022 13:12

It looks like a child's dress, or something a university student might wear. But it might work for older women with the thick tights/chunky boots suggestions (I can't bear thick tights or chunky boots either - I think they look ugly on most women, but each to their own).

1frenchfoodie · 23/04/2022 13:14

I think it is fairly ageless though suspect it would suit 90% of 6 year old girls and considerably fewer adults.
