Trousers for a shortie

Looking for trousers but struggling to find any that will fit me as I am 5ft 2ins. Starting a new job soon and want some smart casual trousers to wear. Wouldn't mind some cullotes too for my casual summer wardrobe. Any ideas where to look?

Check out these trousers from Boden. www.boden.co.uk/en-gb/richmond-7-8-trousers-black/sty-t0114-blk?cat=C1_S2_G963
They are called '7/8 trousers' as they sit on the ankle. I'm 5ft3 and they are perfect for me. I have them in navy and black.

Littleguggi · 20/04/2022 21:00

@ImplementingTheDennisSystem they are exactly the style I am looking for, are they true to size? I am an 8-10

Yes they seem true to size. I'm usually a 10 and I bought the 10. If you're normally an 8/10 I imagine the 10 will fit really nicely.

1frenchfoodie · 20/04/2022 22:38

I’m 5ft3 and size 8/10. M&S short is perfect full length for me. I’ve also found Boden 7/8 length looks full length on me which may work for other 7/8 trousers too. I also have cropped trousers from Next and cropped culottes from Uniqlo.

Littleguggi · 20/04/2022 23:14

@1frenchfoodie thank you, are you able to share links by any chance? I've ordered a couple of trousers from Boden using the 25% off they have on currently!

@Littleguggi One pair are Boden Richmond as mentioned before, not quite sure for the other pair though they may be too. They have lasted ok in the office - a little knee bagging but that is likely down to me often sitting with a foot tucked under me. If you are capable of sitting like an adult they should be perfect for you.

WellTidy · 21/04/2022 11:29

The Boden Richmond trousers are lovely but no good for me as I have chunky thighs.

Littleguggi · 21/04/2022 20:52

@1frenchfoodie omg I sit like that too! Thought I was the only one! We'll I've ordered the Richmonds now so will have to see how they fit on me!

Still on the lookout for some nice summery culottes if anyone has brought any recently...

I need trousers. Like the look of these Boden trousers.

Littleguggi · 22/04/2022 23:04

So my Boden trousers arrived today and i am very happy with them. The Richmond fit perfect but I am thinking of sizing down in the Carrie.

Still on the lookout for other places that sell petite trousers if anyone had suggestions?

Being a shortie, I don't like to wear trousers as they cut my body in half. Dresses are more forgiving as they give a longer line to the body as well as being more comfortable.

If I buy trousers, I usually go to a tailor to alter the length even for jeans. It is an added cost but that way, I don't have to restrict myself only to petite styles.

Littleguggi · 23/04/2022 11:17

@blueshoes I get what you mean, I usually live in dresses but I am not liking the styles of dresses at the moment, they are too floral and tent-like (which IMO are okay for a casual look but not really work)

Mint Velvet do short length trousers, I recently bought https://www.mintvelvet.co.uk/products/houston-khaki-slim-cargo-jeans?variant=41801268166815&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI1fm8oYeq9wIVxO7tCh2LGQnrEAQYASABEgLFEPD_BwE these, probably not smart enough for work though.

Chewbecca · 23/04/2022 12:16

These

Littleguggi · 23/04/2022 13:41

@Chewbecca thank you love those for casual wear, definitely not work. Can't decide if I like the khaki or grey more! Are they true to size? I flit between an 8 or 10

My friend is 4 10 she has to buy kids school trousers 😭

Chewbecca · 23/04/2022 13:56

I’m in a totally different size range but would say you don’t need to size up.

MV don’t make a big deal of their short fitting trousers, I don’t think you can filter on it but they’re very good for me. I bought when they had their recent 20% off everything.
