Need an outfit for twin daughters 18th birthday party which is being held in a city centre night club. DDs are young, gorgeous, tiny and will be wearing as little as possible as will there friends. Only family going are parents, siblings and cousins. What the heck do I wear. I'm 48, 5'1 a size 14 with big boobs and big belly and struggle to wear heels.

Yes I know I've asked the impossible., but any help would be appreciated.

I'm thinking of pleather leggings black satin cami, heeled boots and a zara blazer maybe pink.

I think that sounds great OP, maybe an oversize camel blazer rather than pink, I think that looks more luxe than a bright colour. Hope you have a great time!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 20/04/2022 19:18

I'd go dress. Not a fan of pleather leggings.

Or this

First link hasn't worked. Will try again.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 20/04/2022 19:21

Still not worked. It's the Reiss Tilda floral mini shirt dress in red.

KimikosNightmare · 20/04/2022 19:23

Good heavens that is horrible. And £520 too.

Imtoooldforallthis · 20/04/2022 19:24

I love a floral but do look like I'm off the the WI. I look best in with a fitted profile like skinny jeans, cami or vest then, shirt, cardi, jacket over as anything that fits my bust is too long in arm, too much material in general, for everyday dresses empire line is what suits me best.

What about something like this jumpsuit?

How about a leather mini instead of skinny jeans? Plus silky cami and a blazer?

Imtoooldforallthis · 20/04/2022 19:29

I could try a leather mini, I think I have one.

SirChenjins · 20/04/2022 19:30

I wouldn’t. I have a similar build and a leather mini and cami top does not enhance us.

Imtoooldforallthis · 20/04/2022 19:32

Thank you for all the suggestions, I'm looking at them all. I think I know what suits me, but I keep looking for something I've never thought of that I would look amazing in,. Don't think it exists.

You already seem to know what you want, OP. I’m not sure you’re getting much from this thread. Trust yourself - your outfit sounds ideal.

DaffodilsandCoffee · 20/04/2022 19:39

your leggings, cami and blazer idea sounds ideal to me

I'm a similar build too. I wouldn't wear a cami (tops of arms) but my legs are still decent and a leather mini still quite suits me.

Would you go bare legged or tights?
OP posts:
RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 20/04/2022 22:02

Me? Tights if a mini. If I wanted bare legs, I'd need a midi/pencil skirt. But your legs might be better than mine! Grin

Whykea · 20/04/2022 22:20

If you're comfortable in jeans and a blazer then that's what to wear. Just level it up a bit, get your nails done, get a bouncy blow dry and maybe even your make up done on the day. A piece of statement jewellery, a glass of champagne and have a lovely time!

jenthehen · 20/04/2022 22:20

What about this:

Notarealmum · 21/04/2022 02:24

I think the key is to feel comfortable and not to look like you’re trying too hard to fit in with the young crowd. I’d say something black, loose-ish, whatever the current shape (maybe mini if you’ve got good legs) is so you look contemporary but not like you stand out. So I’d go easy on the jewellery, for example. Those shoes look great by the way.
