Do nice looking walking sandals exist or are they all fugly?

Just that really. Are there any around or am I searching for the holy grail? I had a pair a few years ago for a walking holiday and they were so incredibly comfortable but looked hideous! They’ll mainly be for dog walking so i shouldn’t really care what they look like but to get a pair that looked ok too would be a bonus!

They do feel comfy walking around the house so far! I'd say if you have wider than average feet you might need to size up as the toe straps are not adjustable and the ankle strap has to be pulled quite tight to attach the velcro.

I think the secret is to own it and go for the really ugly ones. Classic leather Teva are my favourite.

All the attempts to be slightly less ugly, have produced something less comfortable and more frumpy.

My personal struggle with fuglies is that I have long (size 8) feet, but narrow. Most footwear of any sort flops about like a pair of canoes. Just because my feet are long, it doesn't follow that they are WIDE! Hence liking Teva which have velcro all over!

I also found the M&S ones comfy but nice enough

I wear havainas, they are the comfiest things ever. Not too hideous either

Do they do sandals that are not flip flops?

I have skechers with thin straps. Certainly less fugly than a lot of walking sandals and are comfy all day.

I have these ones from North Ridge. I'm autistic and these are the comfiest sandals I've ever owned. They have vibram soles so they are very hardy.

I like to kid myself that if I have a lovely pedicure and red nails then fugly sandals are less fugly, well a bit anyway.

Right so this isn’t an update I thought I’d be doing. Ordered three different styles and I can’t decide which I like best. First pair least fugly, second most comfortable and third least expensive and most supportive. DP says that keeping them all is a ridiculous idea. Help!!

2 or 3. Is price an issue?

Just on looks, I like the second pair best. The little plaited but on 1 would annoy me and 3 look a bit more medical than necessary!

I like the colour of the first pair and could be prepared to overlook or even cut off the stupid plait. They would go with anything whereas black is very, well, black. Uncompromising.

No2 are my least favourite. I'd keep No1 and No.3 personally... they're different enough to justify needing them for different outfits 😁

I think they are all ugly. But sometimes, needs must! It's the feet equivalent of beige underwear! 😂
