What do I do with this awful overpriced haircut?!

So gutted - I treated myself to a cut & blow dry with a senior stylist for £90 (the most I've ever spent at a hairdresser) but I've come away with the worst haircut I've ever had. This pic is before and after (colour hasn't changed - just different lighting): he trimmed a couple of inches off the bottom, which was fine, but instead of the fringe I asked for, he told me my thin hair wouldn't take it and instead cut random short choppy bits at the front Shock It all looked reasonable enough after a fancy blow-dry but a total mess in the cold light of day! Any advice on how to deal with this? I'm torn between just leaving it to grow or going back to complain but risking it being made worse. What could even be done now that the front bits are so short and a fringe is apparently out of the question? Help!

@ElenaSt

You could have someone more professional cut it again to look like this but the chances are you won’t have to find someone and it will cost you even more money so you probably are better off letting it grow and trying different ways of styling it.
She shouldn't have to pay more - she can go back to that salon and explain and they are very likely to do it as a good will thing. And I think it would take very little work for a professional to soften it a bit.

They really don't want customers going round saying "I went to X salon, paid £90 and got this haircut that I really don't like, and when I asked for them to resolve it, they just refused. I'd never recommend going there"

Really bad for business!

Thanks so much for these helpful comments - a bit more blending/softening of the layers is exactly what I’ll go back and ask for. Funnily enough I’m pretty sure that as I left, the hairdresser said something like “come back and see me if there are any problems” so perhaps he realised it wasn’t his finest work!

Lol 🤣

Yup I think you may have hit the nail on the head there!

I'd definitely pop back.

I don’t think it looks too bad. Have you tried putting straighteners through?

Lindisfarne1 · 15/04/2022 16:25

I think that's what they call.curtain bangs ? Or fringe

Just updating this post to say that, in an uncharacteristically assertive move, I took people’s advice to go back and tell the hairdresser I wasn’t happy with what he’d done. He was very nice about it and fixed it with no extra charge - here is the result! Much happier with it now so I’m very glad I said something. Thanks for all the helpful advice!
