Wedding outfit help needed!

I'm going to a wedding in June and fancy a pair of wide leg trousers and matching top to give the effect of jumpsuit without the inconvenience. I'd like a paisley pattern ideally. I have more of a lemonade budget than champagne. I thought I'd found exactly what I want in Next but they can't locate the top the model is wearing Hmm

Can you share a picture. What you have described is very specific!

What size are you?

Leah2005 · 13/04/2022 19:57

@bunce1 I'm a size 16, only 5ft tall. I've attached a picture of the outfit from Next I like to give you an idea.

There are loads of those wide leg satin trousers in the shops. I personally would stay away drommpatterneed as I think they look like Pjs.

Bright copiers are so in- what about a bright pink pair of trousers, a soft pink T-shirt and then a blazer on top?

Beebumble2 · 14/04/2022 08:20

I’m doing something similar for an outside wedding , but have plain navy wide leg trousers, white top and a long Georgette jacket/ coat / blouse in a navy and white.
As others have avoid the PJ look.

Leah2005 · 14/04/2022 08:36

@Bunce1 I wanted Paisley as the groom is Indian and I wanted a nod to that. East meets West kind of vibe Smile

This sounds lovely OP. I used to have a lovely pair of crepe tapered trousers from Monsoon that were ideal for pairing with a top in jumpsuit-esque way for practical wedding wear, and God knows what happened to them but I think I charity shopped them - gutted! But if you can't find the right wide-legs then tailored tapered trousers (sort of paperbag-waisted) make a good alternative and might be less PJ-ish. Not that I think PJ-ish is a problem tbh!

Leah2005 · 14/04/2022 09:47

@Bunce1 I love that but not keen on a shirt style as they often don't fit - small shoulders, big bust. Some people are so bloody picky aren't they? Grin

I think I would go for a wrap style blouse top and wide leg pants. I’d start with the top.

justaweeone · 14/04/2022 15:00

What about some of these blouses with a pair of plain satin/silk trousers?

justaweeone · 14/04/2022 15:33

I've fallen down a rabbit hole!😂
It's a dress though

Leah2005 · 14/04/2022 17:18

@justaweeone I like the fabric and pattern of the zara shirt but shirts never fit me well - they pull across my bust or fall off my shoulders. I could perhaps wear it open over a silk cami?

OP posts:
Leah2005 · 14/04/2022 17:21

@justaweeone I also like the river island trousers but they don't have a size 16.

OP posts:
justaweeone · 14/04/2022 17:26

OP River island you can check if stock if in a local store
Re the shirt I thought it looked quite generous on the bust but yes a cami would look nice under it

Leah2005 · 14/04/2022 17:42

@Ahhhhhbisto. Ooh I quite like that - not heard of that company before. It's a shirt top again though.

How about this, it is a jumpsuit but petite.

Next is weird not having the top from the picture!

Chewbecca · 14/04/2022 18:06

Oh no, my suggestion is out of stock, sorry.

Flyinggeese1234 · 14/04/2022 18:28

Hi OP how is paisley connected to India? I’m just intrigued by that.

Flyinggeese1234 · 14/04/2022 18:34

How crazy that Next don’t have the top. I’ve just had a really thorough look, it doesn’t seem to exist!

Flyinggeese1234 · 14/04/2022 18:41
