Hi. I’m looking for recommendations for shapewear. Size 18, to go under a dress. Something that can be bought online or in a shop (I’m in ireland, in case that affects availability). Thank you all in advance. Smile

Is the dress quite tight so any lines will show through?

Plump82 · 12/04/2022 17:52

Someone on here recommended this one to me www.next.co.uk/g261048s14/359442?dp=a&gclid=Cj0KCQjwxtSSBhDYARIsAEn0thQVDqll9piDx_lv51zRAVsv1q7uGxxrmWa50SpP-KAhi67dyPbAQ-8aAoOqEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds#359442 not sure if you can get Next in Ireland but i really like it. Easy enough to get on but smooths out lumps and bumps. They also do similar but the bottom have it like a slip. I wouldn't recommend that one. I couldn't get it past my knees!

It’s not too tight so lines should be ok. Mostly to pull the tum in!

That one is perfect but is all sold out in my size unfortunately. Great suggestion though, thank you.

These are my favourites, really comfy, you can easily wear them all day. They offer great control and don't roll down. They come up to just below the bra line.

They are also available in black. I have both colours.

As you are looking for something to go under a dress, as opposed to trousers, have you considered a control slip, similar to this.

It’s smoothing and practical. You can wear (or not wear depending on choice and style of dress) your own bra with it and it’s easy to go for a wee.

The opaline colour depicted here is a bit bland (understatement!) but it also comes in black.

That’s a good idea, I would really like for it to be comfy. However it’s out of stock in my size. It’s strange as I’ve checked a few websites now and the ones that I like are always sold out in my size, like there’s been a run on them!
