Help me find a jacket

I have a denim jacket that I love but I need a non-denim jacket to wear on occasions where denim just isn't right - usually with jeans (double denim doesn't work for me), sometime other outfits.

Similar sort of weight to denim - nothing too thick or insulated. Not cropped, not long, I'm looking for something around hip length. I've considered leather, but can't decide if that's quite the thing either. Hush had a cotton biker jacket last year but I missed it - that would have been ideal and I'm still kicking myself.

I'm 5'9 and a size 16

Budget is up to £200, but could go to £300 (ish) for leather.

Any suggestions?

Thanks Fizzgigg - that's a bit too busy for me. I hadn't considered a pattern, but having looked at one, I don't think that's what I want.

Of course, the main problem here is that I don't actually know what I do want!

You can't go wrong with a biker from All Saints.

I wear this a lot - great with dresses and it's pretty much replaced my denim jacket.

@evilharpy I got a bit excited then, I used to love All Saints when I was thinner but they only go up to a 14 which I don't think will quite be big enough, especially in a jacket.

@beguilingeyes & @dollydimple123 Facebook loves to advertise Saint + Sofia to me. What is it like for quality/sizing? I do really like the look of that one. Is it like a jersey, or a woven cotton?

@Squiz81 Oh, I love that one! Sadly dusky pink does nothing for my sallow skin - if only it came in other colours.

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie Now, that is interesting. I probably wouldn't have looked closely at that one, but my beloved denim jacket is Hush and fits me exactly as I want it to. I'm now trying to imagine it with jeans. Definitely a contender.

Does coloured or black denim still look like double denim worn with blue jeans?

All Saints leather jackets come up big imo. You'd probably be fine in a 14.

@Defiantly41 I don't think either of those are quite right, but I'd never heard of Kettlewell before and they have some other things I like the look of. What is the quality/sizing like?

Quality is great, wash well, maintain their colour, nice weight fabric. I love the choice of colours, especially when whatever is this year's "in" colour doesn't suit me.

Sizing is true to size I'd say. They sell really well on eBay ( I sold a load recently), may be worth a look on there to see if anything you like is available

I have a 14 and I'd say it's true to size, and the material is a thick jersey. It's a bit like sweatshirt material.
