I don't mind Pandora. I have about 20 beads in reds and turquoise/blue and wear with a summer dress in same colour during day time.

I was quite jealous of people who had them when we were broke when the kids were younger but I'm glad I never started it now.

I think they are an excellent way of a company (e.g. Pandora) to keep spending until a bracelet has cost a ridiculous amount of money. They were trendy in the 70s. I didn’t like them then and I still don’t. I’d rather spend the hundreds of pounds that are spent over time with the charms on a really lovely piece of more understated jewellery. That’s just my opinion of course. Each to their own.

Mine was bought with love by my daughter (DH obviously paid!) Through the years, she carefully chose charms that meant something special, on various occasions.
I have the bangle rather than the “catchy” bracelet. I only wear a couple of charms at a time but it means something special to me. It doesn’t tarnish and they’re not “tat” as they’re quite robust.
I have far more expensive jewellery but this means the world to me and I’ll happily wear it, even if I know the snobs are judging me.

I really like the traditional ones but wouldn't wear one - they look heavy! Don't like Pandora etc at all

CrazyAllAroundMe · 25/03/2022 23:20

To PP who thought of selling do if you're not attached, golds at a high price atm and many of the vintage charms are in excess of 100 each now so if you find a dealer who resells individually rather than purely gold weight you may get an even better price. Mine is my most loved possession. I havent worn in circa 20yrs but I wore it through all my teens and into 20s its battered and bruised but every charm and just the absolute state of it is a precious memory.
Pandora I don't have the hate others do but not my thing. Dd has one somewhere I've never known her to wear. Love those Annie haak stacks but I bought another brand stack a few years back I don't even know where it is I got out of habit of all jewellery for different outfits etc around the time I had a grabby baby who'd pull at a chain or earring and never got back into it. Which is a shame I might like to start looking put together again Blush

OP you do you and you'll look fab. Everyone has their own opinions & style and no one is better than anyone else despite what they might think Hmm

Tonya345 · 25/03/2022 23:28

I think they're a bit tacky.

PurplePeach83 · 25/03/2022 23:46

I love my Trollbeads one. Most of my charms are glass beads, so I've never had a problem with it catching. Also, each bead signifies an important part of my life, without being obvious to anyone but me, so it feels very personal. It's one of my most treasured possessions.

Shanda5 · 26/03/2022 08:27

I'm personally not a fan.

I always think they look a bit cheap even if they were actually very expensive.

LovelyYellowLabrador · 26/03/2022 10:37

Well I ordered a few anyway and they arrived this am
The charms are lovely
But the chain looks a bit cheap but that’s ok
It was the charms I wanted anyway

Inside the packaging has a lovely quote
A winded deer leaps the highest
And the packaging is lovely esp for the price
Very happy with my gift for a lovely friend
