Can I ask what works for you if you have dark circles under eyes?

I’ve been using the eclait highlighter, but it doesn’t really seem to do much now.

What works for you?

The skin under the eye is thinner and that’s where you see most toxins. Anything you apply that isn’t as natural as possible will just make it look worse.
You want an eye cream and a natural foundation of some sort that won’t do that.
The website I swear by is naturissimo. Their detox kit for £15 has an eye product in it which might help-I like it. It’s by Green People.
You can also order other samples of lots of things and I like the caudalie eye cream too. I find Madara foundation is excellent for coverage and doesn’t seem to make my eye area darker.
I often order their monthly boxes which are £22 to try lots of products.
Customer service is excellent. I won’t put the standard high street brands on my skin, even if expensive, because I look at the ingredients carefully but it took a while to figure things out, I am definitely into clean natural beauty and it helps that naturissimo puts so many of these brands in one place. I have enough trouble with hormones etc.
Your skin is the largest organ and absorbs what you put on it so I made an effort to change my skin care. I just wish I could eat less chocolate!!

Definitely try that website if you can. The chat people are lovely too for advice.
Good luck!

A night of sleep and some self care with eye sheet masks

I don't find make up does much at all to be honest. But do notice that they are worse if I've been biffing out on carbs - especially sugar.

Also think about the colours you wear next to your face. Go for the good ones that flatter your skin tone...

I had dark circles at the age of 12. Obviously not caused by alcohol

So did I! As I’ve got older they’ve got hugely worse.

There’s some school of thought that suggests dairy or gluten intolerance may be a cause. I noticed my dcs started getting circles when they started on solid foods and having cheese etc but who knows.

Have just discovered the Erborian ginseng crayon - amazing!

Howdiditgetsobad · 01/04/2022 22:07

Mine have always been prominent too @Iggly. I have very big eyes and sadly, now very big bags. I’m prone to allergies and food sensitivity and that definitely impacts my eye appearance. They look so much better when I’m pregnant and horrendous post partum.

I bought the bye bye under eye concealer yesterday having tried it out in selfridges. It looked good to start with but in some lights it seems to make the hollows look worse Sad.

I use Boots vItamin C eye gel. It’s really made a difference. And a liquid YSL concealer under make up.

Mine too.
@Naimee87 sleep doesn't work for everyone. I've had dark circles since I was a kid, both of my DC have them and get plenty of sleep! It's often genetic.
It's got nothing to do with sleep for me. I may be a bit paler when tired so they may stand out more, but they're not caused or worsened by lack of sleep.

Leftbutcameback · 02/04/2022 16:48

Those of you who have the genetic / pigmentation ones - do you find yours are more brown than purply?

Mine are and I have found a colour corrector (peach for me) makes a big difference. I'm still struggling to get the right application of the corrector and then light reflecting concealer but it's certainly better than concealer on its own.

Mine are grey/purple. I don't find that corrector helps, but I use concelaer that is for skin much darker than my own. Things like Touch Elcat don't even touch the sides. Every thread about proper dark circles is hikajacked by people who don't really have them.
Leftbutcameback · 04/04/2022 15:45

@Gwenhwyfar I know what you mean! I was tempted to post a close up photo to show how bad mine are but I'm not brave enough. Can I ask what concealer you use? I don't think TE is meant for people like us!
