Shoes for sore feet!

VanilaPudding · 17/03/2022 17:34

I have achiles tendinopathy & I'm not sure what to wear on my feet. I was wearing ankle boots with a small heel when I saw the physio & she said the heel was great & I should keep that but try to find an open/more softer back.

Any ideas? I'm on a very tight budget so no judgment please. Cheaper the better!

I wear dresses & tights day to day so preferably something that doesn't look ridiculous with tights, or I could change to leggings. And dresses with bare legs when it warms up. I also have problems with my toes so those have to be covered... Oh & I sweat a lot so breathable would be great (selling myself aren't I)Grin

I have that. Honestly the only thing I can wear is fly footwear

VanilaPudding · 17/03/2022 17:43

Thanks Maddy I just had a look. Nice but a bit pricey unfortunately.

Does anybody else have any ideas?

I'm struggling to find anything that I like & can afford really. I'm 40 & still like some colour/sparkle in my shoes, (eg my current winter boots are all Black but all have an added zip, some glitter, some pattern or coloured stitching etc)

I found a post that said 'dress shoes for achiles tendinopathy' but it was a sea of plain Black.

Fit flop everytime, I have plantar fasciitis and can't wear very high or very flat shoes. Fit flops have in built support and memory foam insoles and are so comfortable.

Thanks Alrightqueenie They are nice but still a bit pricey unfortunately.

I will have a look on eBay/sale etc.

I never realised it would be so difficult to find something! I've been looking at espadrilles (because the sun is finally making an appearance) but they either have too much of a heel or one size platform all along/completely flat.

If you are a size 41 or smaller then childrens shoes can be worth looking at. Cheaper because no VAT and softer/padded and with not too high heels because designed for growing feet. Also tend to be more colourful if you look at the girls ranges (although I have also bought from the boys). Next is particularly good at this - if you check online they break it down by age/size ranges so you don’t have to go through the too small stuff.

VanilaPudding · 19/03/2022 14:38

Thank you Talisin I hadn't thought of that, I will have a look. I used to be a 4 & often used to buy in the children's section, but lately I've been a 5/6 (I now know the reason is swollen feet/foot but for a while there I was mystified at the change in size!)

I find Rieker anti stress really comfortable. Especially the Pip, Pia and Mary Janes. If you hunt around the internet you can usualy find them reduced somewhere. Heels not to high and fit true to size. Good luck finding something as I think there is nothing worse than sore feet.

Oblahdeeoblahdoe · 19/03/2022 15:24

Have you looked on Vinted? People often sell new or nearly stuff on there

VanilaPudding · 19/03/2022 16:00

Thank you Helebeth I like a lot of the Pavers ones, now it's just trying to find some in the right size/cheap enough (the website crashed on me while I was looking through the sale section)

I feel better though knowing that there are some pretty but supportive shoes out there!

Oblahdeeoblahdoe I'm not signed up but it might be worth a look.

Would a heel or a wedge be better do people think? I feel like I need to go back to the physio just to talk shoesGrin

I have these sandals from eBay and they are lovely. I had to look through Sellers items to get my right size as the size isnt selectable from the listing, which was a bit annoying tbh. They are really comfy for me, I have bursitis in my foot and they've really helped. I got them last year and wore them all summer.

CaMePlaitPas · 19/03/2022 16:33

Take the recs on here and check on Vinted.

VanilaPudding · 19/03/2022 16:42

Thanks jessieminto I like those but need a closed toe.

I always buy from the fit flop clearance section, worth checking in a month or so.

VanilaPudding · 19/03/2022 19:15

What do people think of these?

Hey there. I’m currently selling two pairs of size 5 fly shoes on Vinted - feel free to message Smile

VanilaPudding · 19/03/2022 19:24

Aww thank you so much Bumble that's really kind of you but I don't think they will fit, I'm going for a 5.5 or a 6.

OP posts:
Bumble1993 · 19/03/2022 21:10

Sure - no worries 👍

Bessica · 19/03/2022 21:20

Try Vionic footwear, they are like fitflop.

LadyEloise1 · 19/03/2022 22:02

Skechers do Arch Fit. Not as flat as normal Skechers. They're worth a look

greyinganddecaying · 19/03/2022 22:20

I like the look of those OP

VanilaPudding · 19/03/2022 22:33

Thanks greyinganddecaying they are ok aren't they! I hope they are soft on the back. I think I will order a pair so that I have 'something' other than my boots & then I'll carry on looking for something else.

Lady Eloise Yes, I've been looking at those. My phone is full of shoe adverts nowGrin

OP posts:
greyinganddecaying · 19/03/2022 23:23

Please report back on the purple shoes op - I'm tempted to buy some too!

VanilaPudding · 20/03/2022 00:39

greyinganddecaying I went for the (boring) Black ones as I realised I don't have a single dress with any Purple in it... So if they are any good them I'm going to be on the hunt for Purple dresses to match the Purple ones!

It says they might not arrive until 22nd which is crap as it's ages awayGrin

@VanilaPudding
Where are those purple trainers from please ? What website ?
I looked up the Hypersoft website but the colours are fairly limited and there is no purple.
