V neck or round neck?

For tee shirts, tops and jumpers? Or perhaps different for each category...

I always used to go for v necks when younger but switched my allegiance to round neck at some point in my long distant 20s.

You?

Different people suit different necklines. I look better in slash/boat neck or v neck tops. If you have big boobs v neck is often more flattering. High neck matronly.

BreakfastOfWaffles · 15/03/2022 16:55

I agree that it very much depends on your bust. Small busts are often better in a crew neck as a v neck can gape, bigger busts in a v. I am small busted, and have some v neck jumpers though, and wear them either with a t shirt underneath or with a scarf.

RampantIvy · 15/03/2022 16:58

I have a man's v neck jumper. The v isn't as deep as it is on a woman's jumper, and it is perfect for my small bust.

Anoisagusaris · 15/03/2022 17:02

Crew necks are awful on me

LightDrizzle · 15/03/2022 17:03

V-neck. I am short with big boobs and round necks draw attention to that. My neck is also scarred and for some reason round necks seem to accentuate that too.

Gonnagetgoing · 15/03/2022 17:05

Most of my sweatshirts and long sleeved T-shirt’s are round necked but I’ve got jumpers which are v necked and I do have a bigger bust so should get more v necks I guess.

Precipice · 15/03/2022 17:07

Round neck, no lower down than collarbones. A lot of standard cut tops or women's t-shirts reveal too much for my taste/comfort, especially summer tops.

CambsAlways · 15/03/2022 17:09

I like both actually v neck or round as long as it’s a lower round just don’t wear crew necks

PlinkPlankPlunk · 15/03/2022 17:10

I like a square neck, as it usually suits my frame, and I think is often smarter/ more of a feature.

Or failing that a v neck is better than a round neck (because boobs, as above PPs)

LizzieMacQueen · 15/03/2022 17:11

V neck but with a collar suits me best. So basically a polo shirt!

Not too low as I don't like cleavage to be on show.

BusterGonad · 15/03/2022 17:20

I like both but the majority of my jumpers and tshirts are v neck as they look more flattering on me due to having FF boobs. Otherwise I'd prefer round necks.

Eightiesfan · 15/03/2022 17:30

V necks for me, I’m all boobs and anything with a round or high neck makes my chest look like a parcel shelf.

40thanniversayfastapproacning · 15/03/2022 17:31

Large bust so crew necks are not ideal. How come deep scoop necked t-shirts seem to be impossible to find?

Chemenger · 15/03/2022 17:37

My favourite is a square neck, then v-neck or deep round neck, then slash or boat and I would never buy anything with a crew neck. Crew necks make my chin look flabbier and my face look rounder, just very unflattering.

OstrichFeathers · 15/03/2022 17:42

Big boobs here but v necks looks dreadful on me. Slash or boat necks are best with scoop or lower round neck. Cropped cardigans always round necks even though I never close them.

Thighdentitycrisis · 15/03/2022 17:43

I have ample boobage and find V necks flattering. But I wear all types. I also like a slash/boat neck T shirt or round neck Tees.

BaileysBreakfast · 15/03/2022 18:01

Why is there no such thing as scoop neck any more Sad

RestingMurderousFace · 15/03/2022 18:06

I'm fairly big titted but in my 40s started to prefer round necks. V necks pull my face down, making me look even more haggard than usual.

oviraptor21 · 15/03/2022 18:10

Always V neck. Round are just hugely unflattering. I have small boobs.

tiredanddangerous · 15/03/2022 18:14

Always v for me because I have big boobs and round necks make me look very matronly!

evilharpy · 15/03/2022 18:20

Slash or boat neck ideally, followed by round neck. I've put on a bit of weight and am struggling a bit with necklines though. I feel like V neck jumpers make me look frumpy (I'll probably get told off for using that word) and age me, but my boobs are a bit shelfy in a round neck. Slash necks still work though, as does a blouse with a few buttons undone. I can't wait for the weight to go as I'm really not a fan of having larger boobs at all Grin

Boood · 15/03/2022 20:16

Slash neck best. I really dislike v neck tshirts- I always think they look cheap and sleazy. Fine for jumpers though, just not tshirts. The only neckline I won’t wear at all is a polo/turtleneck- can’t stand having fabric pressing against my throat.

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 15/03/2022 20:24

I’m a size 12, 32FF/G (depending on style or manufacturer)

Scoop, square or boat preferred for tops
Low V, scoop, or soft fitting roll neck (not a tight, strangly polo type) for jumpers, I prefer a relaxed, looser fit

There is but it’s not as common as it was.
Nitgel · 15/03/2022 20:27

Both, though in really hot weather a slouchy low v neck in slub light cotton.
