What do you think to women in their 30's with log hair? : Is it time for a change.?

Am 32 this year

Have had same hairstyle since I was 7. Long with a fringe.

Saw This Morning today (how crap is Julian Clary btw?) and they were giving women with long hair the chop, some looked fab with swishy new locks, all shiny and healthy.

I'm thinking 2008, new do and all? Whadya reckon?

but i just looked at your picture and the fringe is super dooper
don't cut your hair!

Beauregard · 04/01/2008 21:56

Northerner-You are far too glamourous ,off with your fringe immediately

Oliveoil · 04/01/2008 21:56

lop it off

did mine in November

fabulous

7 inches off or thereabouts

choppy layers, can be straightened when I have time, or messy curly wavy if not

DrNortherner · 04/01/2008 21:57

Yes but Olive yuo hated it at first did ye not? You bawled IIRC?

and don't forget the maintenance involved in short hair.. you might have to start using a hairdryer EVERY DAY

southeastastra · 04/01/2008 21:57

i think women have spent too many years worrying about hair, surely once you reach 40 you just do what you want (and lots of men have no choice he!).

i find the less i mess with it the better it looks. though get colour done.

colour and a nice trim.

ComeOVeneer · 04/01/2008 21:57

I think it really depends on what condition your hair is. A lot of people find their hair thins and is dry/lifeless as they get older. If it looks good long and is shiney etc (and you like it long) stick with it. I have mine cut much shorter every couple of years (had 10 inches cut off a couple of weeks ago to chin level) as I like a change and I think it does it good. Mind you I have very thick hair and it grows fast.

mylittleponey · 04/01/2008 21:58

your hair looks fab drN

DrNortherner · 04/01/2008 21:58

Is short hair harder to style then?

I need to blow dry mine or it is bushy wiglike.

i agree, depends on condition of hair and the rest of the wearer.

for me, it was a complete no go by 32.

after i gave birth to DD1, it just got thinner and duller.

i've had it in a layered bob since then and it suits me.

saying that, my next door neighbour is in her 50s and still has strawberry blonde hair to her waist and it looks fantastic on her.

Oliveoil · 04/01/2008 22:00

I didn't like it for about a day then everyone at work said it was fab and I was a yummy mummy so vanity made me like it!

it CAN be a pain to dry it every day, but I washed it every day when it was long (although it could be tied back if needed)

you need layers imo

anyway, I have elastic to sew on shoes, must be orrrrrf

expatinscotland · 04/01/2008 22:00

k, seen the pics.

yep, you're as fab as that neighbour of mine.

don't cut yours!

she's tall and thin like you and long hair looks divine on that type.

ToomanynewyearsROSElutions · 04/01/2008 22:01

you are gorgeous and your hair is too, it looks very thick and long, so a chop wouldnt last forever..go for a concaved bob..shorted at the back and maybe wispy sideways fringe(although not a comb over one from your crown, do people not realsie how silly those look!)

You are all too kind.

I tell you, my hairdresser will faint when I tell her to take more than 1 inch off.

I think I am seriously atached to my hair, I may need councelling aftetr this.

My next appt is 18th Jan. May chicken out before then tho.

i have just looked at your pic and you are soossoooo pretty.... that style on this morning would really suit you i am no expert but i think your style you have needs layering and shaping around your face and thinning of your fringe..

are there any pics on this morning website

by the way i think if you like your hair long then keep it 30's is not to old for long hair

Can you wear a ponytail then Cod?

OP posts:
BBBee · 04/01/2008 22:07

you would look chic with a kind of flapper style bob.

you are a lovely looking thing anyway - you can probably do anything and still look dewy.

Oh or have a joanna lumely avengers cut!

expatinscotland · 04/01/2008 22:08

you sound like dd1, northerner, whose hair is stunning.

don't cut it!
