Shoes with this dress

Hi there I have a family party coming up. Quite a chilled affair and have bought this dress. I'm hoping to get away with these sandals with it as I hate heels. Please could I have your opinions?

You say it's 'chilled' but what does that mean? Where will it be held?

Chilled could mean a sit-down dinner in a fancy hotel but a massive laugh. Or it could mean a few beers in a pub garden.

When is it? What's the weather likely to be?

If I'm honest, I don't like the sandals. Sorry. Would you wear pumps? And a cross-body bag? Is that too casual?

I could wear pumps. It's on Saturday. Just the venue is chilled. Like a pub not posh. Thanks

Hi OP, I don’t think the sandals go with the dress, I think you either have to dress it up (with heels) or down and as you say it’s a chilled pub thing I’d go with white pumps and a denim jacket (weather permitting!) if that’s an option?

Denim jacket and white (leather?)!trainers; go for comfort every time, you'll enjoy yourself so much more if your feet aren't cold or hurting. Have a great time!

THe sandals are too black for that dress. I'd go paler flat shoes/white trainers that pick up the white in the dress instead.

The dress is lace if that makes any difference. Have managed to order some white leather converse but please try to imagine these are white and compare to the black boots

Can you link to the website where the dress is from? It might give a better idea. I'm personally not sure about lace dress and trainers (I'm not exactly fashionable though)

Can you swap the dark strap sandals for lighter ones? (Tan or something?) maybe a small wedge heel if you are up for it? I think that would improve the look a bit as the dark strap is a bit harsh. but you look lovely and should wear what you are comfy in
