Culottes - do they ever look good?

Are they ever a good substitute for a skirt, or do they always look weird? What footwear? Bare legs or tights/leggings?

No, they are horribly weird. Any culottes.
Then again I've never seen any woman look good in leggings, so what do I know. I reckon both were designed by mysoginists, as were the 'cold shoulder' clothes. Looked like the moths had been at them.
