Handbag - around £300?

Superquints · 02/03/2022 20:22

I know this probably isn’t a lot to have to spend in the grand scheme of handbags… I could maybe go to £350
I would like something classic but also with a bit of a quirk?
It has to be not super tiny as I carry medical supplies with me.
I’m not sure beyond that really.
Any help appreciated!

Anyone?

Cross body? Clutch?
Structured? Boxy? Slouchy?
Classic black/brown/navy or something more striking?
Plain or patterned?
If it were me then I'd fancy this from Coach. Tell us why you'd hate it and we can go from there.

Ally Capellino is worth a look. I love their bags, well made, a bit different not too stupidly priced.

I just got a couple of gorgeous strathberry bags on Vinted, in nearly new condition, for £230 each (about half of RRP) - definitely worth a look!

This comes in black, olive and stone as well.

Coach has good ones in that price bracket and the quality is great, have you checked their site?

jojojane · 03/03/2022 11:16

I would recommend Coach. I have a a few and the quality is fab. Some beautiful ones on their website!

DinosaursEatMan · 03/03/2022 11:32

Another vote here for Coach. I have the Elise as my everyday bag. It is very roomy.

I don’t understand the obsession with overpriced handbags. You could buy a car for that!

PancakeBae · 03/03/2022 11:37

I've got - and LOVE - an Elvis & Kresse bag made from recycled firehoses. Fits a laptop, notebook, paper, purse, etc, etc. The linings and leather bits and pieces are sourced from other wasted fabrics (printers blankets, handbag leather offcuts) and they donate to firefighter charities too. I've had a lot of compliments!

SummaLuvin · 03/03/2022 11:39

I'd look at Polene for that price point. I have one and love it.

Nnique · 03/03/2022 11:45

Aspinal of London might have something you like, and the bag will be of excellent quality with superb design/style credentials. They’re pricy but they’ve got a great saving deal on atm in which you get up to £150 off.

If you don’t understand people who enjoy and appreciate beautiful handbags this really isn’t the thread for you...OP wants a bag, she evidently doesn’t want or need a car!

What are you talking about? You can’t buy a car for £300 Confused

It's style and beauty and, more importantly, people are allowed to have conversations about things you don't see the point of. Why do people keep doing this? Anyway, Kate Spade.
GreenFingersWouldBeHandy · 03/03/2022 12:00

Of course you can. Might just an ancient cheap little second/hand runaround but it’ll last for a year. And if you don’t have any alternative transport it’s worth its weight in gold.

CharacterForming · 03/03/2022 12:35

I don't think you've bought a second hand car recently Greenfingers. Auto trader has 400,000 second hand cars listed for sale. The only cars on sale for less than 500 pounds are for spares, or have major mechanical faults.

PancakeBae · 03/03/2022 12:46

a £300 car doesn't cost £300 for very long.

@GreenFingersWouldBeHandy but the Op doesn't want a car, they want a bag.

You could spend £300 on a lot of things, but it would be irrelevant in this situation because that's not what the OP wants!

What is this obsession with telling posters what they could buy instead of the thing they want?!

Why do you spend money on heating/electricity/literally anything? You could buy food for that!
florianfortescue · 03/03/2022 13:04

Have a look at APC bags, they are beautifully made and about that price range I think.

Me too but if it makes people feel good Smile I get mine from charity shops. One I always get comments on was £2 Grin

Show us your bags Smile

Nnique · 03/03/2022 13:11

Oh yes, ACP have lovely bags.

Nnique · 03/03/2022 13:16

I buy handbags from charity shops too sometimes - I’m not averse to saving money and I’m not a snob either. But I love beautiful bags and leather goods and enjoying them is a perfectly valid choice which I am perfectly entitled to make. I detest self-righteousness and I detest this idea that some people have that a woman shouldn’t be allowed to spend her own money on something she loves and wants. It’s tedious at best and misogynistic with it. If you have an issue with women spending money on clothing/fashion/bags you really ought to go find some more useful to do with yourself instead of wasting your finite time on earth hanging out on the Style and Beauty forum, don’t you think?
