What jeans for apple shape?

I've always found it very difficult to get jeans that fit, even worse now with a bit of lockdown weight!
I'm about a size 14 waist, no hips, skinny shortish legs. I'm trying to lose weight so only want two pairs for now. One casual ish pair, (bootcut shape suits me but i'm unsure if they even sell those now)! One going out pair, skinnyish, to wear with boots or sandals when the weather gets better. Most i've seen are high waisted but i'm unsure about those, i'm pretty large up top and dont want to look squashed in the middle.
What type and/or brand I should go for? I think whichever ones I get need to be stretch to fit my strange shape properly.

I'm a fan of Not your daughter's jeans (NYDJ)

I bought the Next lift slim and shape in bootcut today. Really high waisted and fit well on me. I have a big tummy but not much bottom and slim legs.

Hmmm.... Belts are essential if you have low or maybe mid rise jeans. I have some slim leather belts from the 80s when they were trendy, and I still wear them with jeans that I had to buy before high rise came back in.

BUT - they were always a pain in the backside even when I was a fashion freak, because you have to undo them every time you go to the loo! I persevered for maybe 15 years, but actually - men wear them because they can pee without undoing them. We can't - so don't choose belts as a regular thing because they are more trouble than they're worth. Obviously I am a woman of a certain age, and younger things may not think it's a problem - but it always was!

You have been warned....Smile

I am exactly the same stats as you and find Next slim and shape jeans great. I go up a size because of my tum (and they are very clingy jeans so going up a size for the waist doesn't affect the leg fit). Size 16 in these jeans looks very flattering and is comfortable, don't be put off by the 16 label, they are well worth a try.

Oh and the "Tights Up" belt (on Amazon is a lifesaver, holds up jeans, tights, leggings, or anything else. It's thin and flat and can't be seen under clothes. It's a godsend if you're apple shaped like me, I think I've worn it every single day since I bought it over a year ago.

I this shape too, I'm 5ft2 size 10 in jeans 12 top as inverted triangle shape a size 12 waist and size 10 hips, I hate wearing belts don't like the extra bulk or the feeling of a belt round my middle, over the years have wasted so much money on jeans trying to get a good fit, I do have a couple of skinnies from levis, but still have to pull them up now and again, had better luck with m&s lily jeans more a relax skinnie seems to stay up better.
