How not to look a state on a beach holiday

First beach holiday abroad in two years coming up in 3 weeks. Yay.
I've been busy googling some (staged) beachy pictures knowing I never quite pull it off.
But going to give it my best shot anyway-
I'm slim but extremely pale so probably going to start building up a fake tan.
Bought new bikini's and kaftan thing.
Have a few hats as my hair doesn't fair well. Tried beachy waves once, absolute disaster!
Pedi and paint toe nails.
Any other tips? What do you do? Especially with your hair? Products etc?

Can someone please explain to me kanekalon hair??

lindyloo57 · 28/02/2022 15:33

Which taning drops do you recommend? I tried clarins, but they just make me look 🍊

KirstenBlest · 28/02/2022 15:37

@Bunce1, I think it is synthetic hair plaited into natural hair, but someone may correct me if I'm not right

@NandorTheRelentlessCleaner

Oh I think the best beach holidays are where you just relax, jump into the sea or pool and wrap yourself in an old beach towel

Just relax and enjoy and honestly nobody cares how you look (in the nicest possible way). I love how over the course of holiday zi care less and less and just enjoy it. That’s the point of a holiday, more fun than worrying about beach fashion Wink

Enjoy. Am a bit jealous as would looooove a beach holiday myself Grin

This isn't the right thread for you.

Brazilian blow dry for sure - game changer

NandorTheRelentlessCleaner · 28/02/2022 17:43

@thebigpurpleone Grin no wait, I got sight tracked by my own desire to relax and dive into the ocean!

In terms of tips: I put quite a lot of conditioner in my hair then plait it , so it does not get too damaged

Works really well

@peaceanddove

My brows have been slowly disappearing since I turned 50. We're off to the Caribbean at Easter and I didn't want to be browless in the pool and sea, so I had my eyebrows microbladed a few weeks ago and they look fantastic. Completely natural, very slightly fluffy at the inner corners, really flattering. I'm booked to have LVL lashes just before we fly so my eyes will look fresher and awake even with no make up. Also getting a Shellac manicure and a Russian pedicure too. Finally, I'm also getting a keratin blow-dry so my hair stays sleek and shiny, because even though I have short hair it will frizz and kink in the humidity, otherwise.

I'm all about industrial levels of holiday preparation, so that I don't have to worry or do much while I'm away.

I agree with you peaceanddove. Industrial all the way and not have to worry whilst away. I wear a white straw (with black band) fedora which (I think) always looks stylish, whether sat by the pool or having lunch. However, I am seriously thinking of having permanent eyeliner applied in the coming weeks also. Not just for ease on holiday but because my eyesight is becoming increasingly useless and putting eyeliner on nowadays is really a "hit & miss but keep fingers crossed" event :)

Hello, 2 questions if people don't mind..

  1. Is the Brazilian blow dry good for fine thin hair? I don't want to end up with an oil slick.
  1. Which bb cream?? I used to love a boots botanics one on holiday but they've stopped making it.
TheJunctionBaby · 06/03/2022 21:34

This is not uncommon for us non white ladies with different textured hair. Or even for those with thicker hair that isn't "wash and go" friendly. Maybe sad to you, but a reality for others.

TheJunctionBaby · 06/03/2022 21:51

The above was meant in response to those who don't seem to understand why someone wouldn't want to get their hair wet constantly or even at all. We don't all have the same hair and what works for you doesn't necessarily work for every other women. It's not hard to understand that surely?

AnnaDelvorkina · 07/03/2022 18:50

ThinkAboutItTomorrow I like Erborian bb cream, which isn't expensive (and you can buy it in a really tiny size so there is little waste if it turns out not to be for you) HOWEVER it comes in only 3 shades.
