I have been invited to a party, the dress code of which is 'white with a hint of gold"! This is a nightmare for me, I am pale and do not have anything white in my wardrobe. Please can anyone help me find a dress?

It's a big party, sit down meal and band and dj etc, so evening dress or cocktail dress will be ok. I am size 14 and would like something with sleeves. Budget up to about £200.

I am trying and failing to find anything, the white outfits are either to much like a wedding dress or beachy type, holiday dresses.

Please help!!

Why are you spending so much? Just get a longish man’s white shirt and tie it with a cheap good belt.

Thank you for the suggestion I just wish the dress was a bit longer. Short dresses are not that great for me

Use gradual tan instead of getting a spray tan.

I think that the right shade of white is critical for your colouring - as off white / ivory etc may or may not be better for a pale complexion - but if you are doing a self tan then a brighter white might work better? This is an important place to start. Then just stick with shapes that work for you already and Google that.

Love the idea of a jumpsuit - v classy, stylist etc BUT with those sleeves I am getting an Elvis vibe….!

This is very helpful thank you. I'm not keen on the fake tan idea and so I think you're right I really need to look into what is the right shade of white for me. Ivory or off-white might be a good solution

Call me an anti social curmudgeon but I probably wouldn't go to an event where I'm told what to wear, or I would go but wear exactly what I want to wear, what can they do after all? Why would you waste money on a dress you don't want and may never wear again - what about the environment? What about not being a 🐑

Haven’t read other comments so hopefully not repeating. Some whites have blue some cream, beige undertone. If you pale you can look so beautiful. Put gold against edging of neckline and maybe be a bit out there and don’t confirm to exact exact rule. Do something unusual with gold item to take attention off pale. Champagne is gold so just hold a glass in your hand at all times that will get u thru night

I'm not sure if I'm too late...I would say don't go all white if you're not comfortable with it, the most important thing is you feel fabulous. I saw some things but not sure how dressed up or down you want to go as not sure what kind of event it is. I'll add them.
