I have been invited to a party, the dress code of which is 'white with a hint of gold"! This is a nightmare for me, I am pale and do not have anything white in my wardrobe. Please can anyone help me find a dress?

It's a big party, sit down meal and band and dj etc, so evening dress or cocktail dress will be ok. I am size 14 and would like something with sleeves. Budget up to about £200.

I am trying and failing to find anything, the white outfits are either to much like a wedding dress or beachy type, holiday dresses.

Please help!!

I know you said a long sleeve dress, but what about something like this with a blazer?
I love the blazer and the dress but worry it might show too many lumps and bumps also not sure about the midi length. The white dress gold blazer combo is such a good idea. It's so hard.

how about this Lipsy dress? Can add gold accessories.

This is a lovely dress and could work well with a blazer to cover arms. Not sure if it is special enough though, a bit too work wear perhaps?

I would look for a long white beach dress from H&M and buy some big gold earrings.

It is annoying me being told what to wear!

Budget is £200 as I want to spend enough to buy something they I am really happy with and I want to look nice at the event. It's a family party and I want to look pretty and enjoy it, despite wearing white!

Thank you for your suggestion but I really can't wear that. It is far too casual and will look out of place and as if I haven't made enough effort. It's also a bit shapeless for me, I like something more structured

I was thinking that but I never get a tan and so wondered if it might look a bit odd to suddenly turn up brown! Bit white is so tricky otherwise!

You could type sequin into Next, ASOS or Boden. Trinny has lovely styling videos.

I was going to suggest a white trouser suit before I even saw your update OP. I think it is the perfect solution. And as to glamour - if it is good enough for Bianca Jagger to get married in, I think it’s good enough for your event.

Buy that and enjoy - perhaps gold sandals?

Thank you for your suggestion. This is a very pretty dress, only concern is that it might be a bit see-through since it's only 40 something pounds and especially if there are bright lights or disco type lights in might be completely see-through!
