Baukjen Returns

Anyone have experience of Baukjen returns? I sent an item back 4 weeks ago: two weeks later they acknowledged receipt of the item but still haven't refunded me. It's been a few years since I returned anything to them, and they were fine in the past, but 4 weeks is taking the p**s, especially when the likes of John Lewis/Boden refund within a couple of days.

Yes.. First time I ever ordered from them. I was so happy to have discovered them.

Similar experience to you, took so long to actually get the money into my account I would have forgotten about it if I wasn't keeping a tab on my spending.

Agree. Nice quality clothes but if you return, you end up with a visa fee as reimbursement not done promptly. Puts me right off.

Same for me. They confirmed 3 weeks ago the return had arrived but still no reimbursement. Such a shame as the clothes are great quality.

I emailed them after waiting two weeks. They replied straight away and said items still on way back to them but to confirm what I'd returned and they'd process refund. Was back on my credit card next day.

Glad it's not just me then! Agree it's nice quality and would be tempted to buy more from them but this has put me off a bit. Think I'll order via John Lewis next time - would have done that this time but the items were only available through the Baukjen website.

Same here - returned in November and got my refund last week. Not acceptable customer service when there’s a tight turnaround time at the customer end to return the item.

That is awful!!

Yes that's what I found annoying. They were pretty strict on the time to return it if i recall correctly.

This happened to me before Christmas. I phoned after three weeks and was told they had a backlog of returns to deal with due to some cock and bull story. I said how long had they known about this and the guy said two months! I suggested they should communicate this to customers who had sent returns in. He said it was a temporary problem but it sounds as if it's still going on.
I wouldn't shop with them again for this reason.

They were like this throughout 2021 if my experience is anything to go by. I returned 3 items in total (all separate returns) and each time it took a couple of months for them to acknowledge, process and refund. The last time it took so long that I had forgotten about it when the money finally showed up! It is a great shame though because their clothing is good quality and I like their ethics too.

I had an acknowledgment of a return on 4 Feb to be refunded within 14 days. Still not back in my account. Has anyone who posted upthread waiting for returns, had refunds yet? Am just firing an email off to them.

I emailed Baukjen last week about my return: they responded the following day and the money was back in my account the day after that. They responded very quickly BUT shouldn't need chasing. It's crappy customer service considering their clothes are £££ and has really put me off ordering anything else from them. I'll either get it from John Lewis next time or not bother.

If I have to chase for a refund and then its suddenlt processed I would never use a company again

They've been like this for ages - I had the same experience probably... four years ago now? I had to chase and chase for a refund. Never ordered from them again.

Well, by coincidence, the Baukjen brochure has dropped through the door today and, judging from the flouncy floral awfulness of most of the clothes, I don't think I'd be ordering anything anyway Smile

Yes same. I had to chase them up and they said they hadn’t received them, although courier had collected. I supplied proof of postage and they did refund, but only after chasing again.

They are very slow at returns. However, on other side they are very accommodating about out of time returns. I sent back some clothes months out of time, expecting a credit note at most and they fully refunded me.

I had the same experience. Returned something early January, was waiting weeks before acknowledgement of receipt of my return and then further weeks with no money appearing in my account.

I phoned and the refund was actioned straight away, but I got the feeling that if I hadn't I would not have received any money back.

I will never use them again.

Similar experience with a delay but return was processed once I contacted them. Not good enough.
Me+Em were similar- a late August return was refunded in October.

Helpful to read this, I was just about to start trying Baukjen for some basics. I will stick to what I can order via John Lewis!

Absolutely awful experience with them. During lockdown my courier only operated through as 'drop off slot' where we wouldn't get a receipt just had to drop it through. They say they never got the return, which I did doubt as ever single return (and there have been a few) took at least 4 weeks to refund. They never refunded, it was over £200 of clothes sent back too! Have refused to buy from them since.

Agree need to chase them every single time - although they then do process. Highly irritating though.

Same here - waited a month or more, refund processed next day after I chased them. despite the alleged backlog. It has also put me off buying from them again.
