What do you think of this dress for a garden wedding, late 40s bride

After years of putting it off for one reason or another, we've decided we'd better get married. Been together 20 years and feel slightly embarrased about a wedding because I'm extremely introverted.

We've decided to have a celebrant in our garden. We live in Australia and September is the month we've chosen because I'm about to turn 50 then.

I don't want to wear white or cream as I'm very pale and they just don't look good. We're only going to be having about 15 guests...very relaxed, a caterer and a bar....I want something lovely but not short or anything that shows any chest as my chest is very red due to broken veins...I also suit high necks as have a small chest and shoulders. I like this...any thoughts or other suggestions please? Must have SOME sleeve and high neck. Thanks!

Noooooo to long dangly earrings, though. You need to avoid it looking hippy. An interesting pair of non droopy gold earrings would be lovely

The dress is beautiful.
Don't feel silly. My mum was a registrar in the UK. She had lots of couples, older than you, who had lived together for years and had suddenly realised that it was financially beneficial to be married

If it’s going to be an evening wedding I would probably go for something a bit more glam. The navy dress seems more wedding guest than bride.

Gold leaf shape earrings, quite short rather than long, no more than an inch long but they'll move in a pretty way.

Very nice dress! I would do hair up with a cream fresh flower and some pearl earrings, perhaps a tiny dangly pearl earring and matching bracelet.
