Eyebrow Tint too dark!

I need some reassurance here. I've had my browns waxed and tinted today. I'm low maintenance with my brows, as in they are always a bit of a mess and I don't wear eye pencil etc. So I can't pull off the glamorous look.
I have dark hair and she only used medium brown tint but they are so 'there' and dark. All I see are brows! My partner is going to laugh at me when he sees them.
Please reassure me it'll fade...soon.

It'll fade soon for sure. I find that as soon as I wash my hair and face in the shower the tint comes out looking much more natural and loses the harsh look

Youcansaythatagainandagain · 08/02/2022 15:33

Within a week they will fade!

miltonj · 08/02/2022 15:34

They'll fade! I'm as blonde as they come and my brow girl puts uses light on me and it still comes out basically black for the first few days 😅

MazzleDazzle · 08/02/2022 15:37

It probably looks fine and will def fade in the next few days (I’ve been there!).

Overandout1 · 08/02/2022 15:40

Thank you all for reassuring me. I'm in hiding at present. I mean they do match my hair as I'm dark, I think it's because I'm so pale and not used to very shapped brows! I can't tell if I need to get used to them or they are terrible. In fairness her FB page was amazing and all the brows looked great and mine were a disaster before!

I normally have white blonde eyebrows, practically invisible. The first time I had them tinted I thought I looked insane. No other fucker even noticed I'd had them done.

Overandout1 · 08/02/2022 15:43

@miltonj it's weird how blonde colours come out dark. I have dark brown hair and once asked a hairdresser for lighter brown highlights (well actually wanted it a shade lighter all over but it apparently wasn't possible). I ended up with giant blocks of blonde. I looked pretty much completely blonde. I bought a dark blonde to put over the top, hoping it would darken the highlights a little and my hair came out almost black! I've no idea how that's possible.

She did say she used medium brown and showed me the next lightest colour, she said it was a gingerish colour and would be way too light for me.

@Nevermindful typical! My partner would notice but I know what you mean. If ulid have seen you, you would probably have 'normal' looking brows. I think my paleness doesn't help and the fact I don't wear loads of make up. Also the shape is different but in fairness better.

If the tint is fresh, then you've maybe got some on your skin still - certain tint brands can tint the skin too. And if she's used a brand like HD Brows they also apply a makeup to fill in any gaps etc. have you given them a wash yet?

Try a regular cleanse with normal makeup remover, but if you still feel like they are super dark for you - then an at home remover - mix teaspoon of baking soda mixed with a teeny bit of your normal shampoo to make a paste, give that a massage into your brows and leave for a few minutes and cleanse off with water. (Watch your eyes with the shampoo). That's supposed to help remove the tint.

But if you like them, tell anyone else who "disapproves" to mind their own 😂

Overandout1 · 08/02/2022 16:02

@Candean thank you for the tips. I shall give it a few days and see. She did say something about this brand tinting the skin for a week. I've no idea what or why and I think she used an eye pencil too. All the FB pics looked great so I just trusted her.

The last time I had my eyebrows professionally waxed it was a disaster. She literally hacked off all my hair, they were very far apart, very thin, uneven and I was burned.

If I post a pic, maybe I can have objective opinions... I'll post a before and after. Don't judge the before, I hadn't plucked in a month and they're worse than the photo looks!

I think they look good! They'll fade a little quite quickly but you've got a really nice shape there.

Butternutsqoosh · 08/02/2022 16:09

I think they look fab you're only seeing them too dark because you were used to the before!

Liverpool17 · 08/02/2022 16:10

Look greatSmile

Neoncoral · 08/02/2022 16:10

They look really good! It's always such a change when you don't usually bother with brows. Been there!

They honestly look lovely.

StepBackPlease · 08/02/2022 16:11

They look amazing OP, really set off your eyes!

Overandout1 · 08/02/2022 16:13

Thank you all. It's good to have objectivity. I've never had a proper shape as such and if I saw them on someone else I'd think they look good. I think she's very talented and done a good job, I think they just look a bit much on me at the moment but as you've said, the tint will fade.

Just for contrast the last time I had my brows done...
Absolute disaster and I cried.

They look amazing. I think she’s filled in a bit with pencil. In a few days max three days, they will have faded to half the darkness. Once you cleanse your face tonight you’ll lose some of it.

pazwaz70 · 08/02/2022 16:15

They look great,amazing shape. I'm jealous 😆

Freddofan · 08/02/2022 16:18

I think they look good. I have light blonde eyebrows and had mine done and kept repeating’ not too dark, but came out looking like something from Angry Birds ! Cleanser to clean the dye from my skin and shampoo and they were a bit lighter, but I wore foundation applied and then wiped off for a week. I haven’t had them done since and now you can’t see them at all, but it’s still a preferable look.

ferretface · 08/02/2022 16:20

They are beautiful OP, don't feel worried, that's a lovely result. It does fade fast in any case (I DIY mine and the first day is always a bit bold).

Hereforthedramaz · 08/02/2022 16:24

Absolutely always look super dark on day one.

I always come out thinking I look like a kardashian and by the next day they've faded and I'm used to them and love them.

I think they've done a great job on your's!

Nevermindful · 08/02/2022 16:42

They look fantastic. Was it just a tint or something fancier? I am tempted to go and get mine done again.
