Pretty nightwear for first weekend away together

So, going away with (fairly) new man. He has stayed over before but this will be the first time we have stayed in a hotel and had a "romantic" trip, iyswim.

I want to buy a pretty nightie/chemise type thing, but struggling to find anything. Everything I find is either ridiculously revealing, cheap shiny fabric or ultra frumpy. Not terribly keen on spaghetti straps as I don't find them very comfortable, but definitely no sleeves!

Anyone got any ideas? I am middle-aged, size12/14 about 5'7" blonde, pale colouring... all help welcomed!

Yes, it’s brilliant isn’t it? You can get advice online for nice things to wear and order them directly to your house! Modern life is great!

I think they look a little ‘matronly’.

H and M have surprisingly nice underwear/fancy night stuff.
I also have a subscription to savage fenty online. But more out there some of it.

Their nibs have done nice pyjamas, including shorts sets, also some chemise styles and wraps. I prefer the satin feel to the cotton. Not too expensive. I chose some satin cheetah pyjamas for xmas, and love them. Make me feel like a grown up . So cute and comfy, not overtly sexy, and also no cartoon characters (as is on much women's nightwear for some reason).

Absolutely not. It depends on the woman, and on the man. I laughed at a PPs comment of peep hole bra and crotchless knickers as I actually did this last week 😂 who doesnt like a bit of spice! Not all the time, the next night we had nice vanilla sex and were equally as happy but nothing wrong with dressing up and feeling sexy once in a while! (Fyi we have been married 9 yrs with 3 kids so not exactly in the honeymoon stage!) Each to their own.

Op I hope you find something you like and have a lovely weekend. Your man will love whatever you wear as long as it makes you feel good as it'll show if you're confident and that's the sexy bit!

@rumblypumbly I have nothing against peephole bras and crotch less knickers! And have worn my fair share of outfits and underwear.
I just meant that it wasn't being demanded of the OP to wear specific items, it is her choice
