What are your favourite Aldi dupe beauty buys?

I was looking at some of the Aldi beauty dupes I have today and the joy there is in some guilt free inexpensive luxuries. I accumulated quite a few buys the last year. I love the Peony and Blush Suede dupe perfume, smells so gorgeous and to be able to use it every day! I have a beauty box as well, there are some lovely bits there! I also love any of the Jo Malone candle dupes. What are the best Aldi dupes you've bought over the years?

The Nars concealer dupe,I have 6 in my make up bag so I don't run out!

DefaultParent · 11/02/2022 07:58

I've ordered the Myrrh and Tonka perfume dupe to try. May be no good but worth a try at £6.99 for every day wear.

DefaultParent · 11/02/2022 07:59

Also love pomegranate candle and the reed diffusers. Except the Neom christmas dupe candles they don't have any smell.

whymewhyme · 11/02/2022 20:41

I love the pineapple serum, i dont find it sticky but i do only use a few drops qs a little goes a long away

FreshFaceTime · 12/02/2022 09:51

I absolutely LOVE Aldi dupes. The things I bulk buy when I see them in store are...

Moisture boost moisturiser
Hot cloth cleanser (I prefer the marine algae one, but the rose and original ones are nice too - I sometimes buy the gift sets of smaller ones to work my way through)
Rose toner (AM)
Glycolic toner (PM)
H2O overnight mask
Ebony rose face mask (will look out for the face cream now I've seen it mentioned here)
Concealer (Nars and Tarte dupes are both good)
Kiehl's midnight recovery dupe (AMAZING)
Rose oil (costs less than a fiver and is exactly the same as an Elemis one I had RRP about £60 for 15ml)
Cleansing balm (everyone raved about the EH one on the M&S advent calendar thread - I couldn't wait to get back to my Aldi one - way better!)

I liked the watermelon gel moisturiser (Glow Recipe dupe) but found I didn't really use it as I preferred the moisture boost one and they serve the same purpose for me (lightweight summer moisturiser) so I won't repurchase that unless I run out of my moisture boost stash and I need something to fill the gap.

I also like their UD eyeshadow palette dupes (love the brush!) and I bought their Benefit bronzer dupe recently but haven't used it yet.

There are a few things I haven't got on with... Caviar cream wasn't for me.

I used the rejuvenate night cream for years until they either changed the formula or I got a dodgy jar, it just smelt so strange and I couldn't stand putting it on my face. Didn't think to use it on my legs! I use the Q10 night cream instead now but my quest for a HG night cream continues...

I wasn't a fan of the pineapple serum - found it too sticky - but now I'm thinking maybe I've been using too much. Might try again with a smaller amount.

I also tried their Drunk Elephant vitamin c serum dupe and it was a good dupe (smelt exactly the same, bit sticky on application but sinks in quickly so the stickiness doesn't last long)...but I have another vitamin c serum that I prefer and am happy to splash out on as lots of my skincare is now Lacura or Superdrug.

Just waiting for them to bring out a Clarins Double Serum dupe...sigh...

Wow that was long Grin

Amazing!! Thank you
Supersimkin2 · 13/02/2022 13:26

Alcura intensive hand cream, about 70p, healed my cracked red pandemic hands in three days.

That stuff kicks shit out of the Chanel hand creams I’d resorted to. I bought ten and they keep being nicked by friends.

WingBingo · 13/02/2022 14:07

This thread just instigated a trip to Aldi.

I am now sat here enjoying the pomegranate candle whilst trying out the BB cream

I think the BB cream will help even out my complexion a bit when constantly on camera at home on work calls

I like it.

Fritilleries · 14/02/2022 17:56

They've got those weird stone massagers in stock. Qua Plas? Massaged some of their Lacura serum in with it and omg so glowy! My OH says it looks greasy but I disagree. Smells nice, makeup sits well on it. £1.59. Absolutely mental!

PenOrPencil · 14/02/2022 18:03

The Rejuvelate cream in the red jar is amazing and has SPF30.
The oat hand cream is excellent, too. We have a tube in every room.

MoriaRoseForever · 14/02/2022 18:20

I don’t have one nearby, is all the beauty stuff online ? Looking in the website it seems some bits are click and collect only ? Trying to work out the site !

MoriaRoseForever · 14/02/2022 18:21

Cam anyone explain what the difference is between a toner and a tonic ? Lots of different ones , working out which is best .

No, it's not all online, some of it is special buys so you have to keep your eye open for when it's going on sale.

MoriaRoseForever · 15/02/2022 09:37

That’s annoying as don’t live near one, so can’t pop in .

I can see some is online, other stuff click and collect . There isn’t one nearby to do that . I think some of the best stuff is in store or click and collect I think . So the hand creams for example.

MoriaRoseForever · 15/02/2022 09:37

So there is vit C toner and vit c tonic. Not sure which to get . Seem similar in what they do .

Gonnagetgoing · 15/02/2022 10:53

I forget which of Aldi and Lidl have the best beauty buys. I did get a nice Mango shower gel (dupe of the Original Source one) in Aldi I think.

I also got the Pomegranate perfume I think in Lidl.

I agree with what someone said re Lacura moisturiser. It was ok but pilled on me sadly.

Gonnagetgoing · 15/02/2022 10:55

@LookdeepintotheParka

Ooh quite a few!

I've got quite a few of the Jo Malone perfume dupes and they are pretty good! The velvety rose one is particularly lovely.

Skincare wise I love the CBD serum which is incredibly light and non greasy. Also the overnight sleep gel. The hemp hand cream is really moisturising - have stocked up on this one.

I picked up a brilliant hair mask (Coco & Eve dupe) in their sale last year - wish I'd got more as it's the best I've used!

My DD loves the Too Legit benefit dupe mascara!

@LookdeepintotheParka - the CBD serum is amazing. Finished mine and had to get one from Ebay as I don't think they sell it anymore.
Inthesameboatatmo · 15/02/2022 11:37

Ok. Because of this thread I've brought the bergamot perfume and the tonka bean perfume and they are very nice. So much for no buy year 😕

This is the problem isn't it. Such good value so you end up buying two! I did the same with the blushers.
Inthesameboatatmo · 15/02/2022 12:56

It's a big problem for me lol. It wouldn't be so bad of they stopped discontinuing things

TheYearOfSmallThings · 15/02/2022 13:02

I've been disappointed by all the ones I've tried, tbh. I love 8 hour cream so gave their version a try, but it was just unpleasantly perfumed vaseline packaged to look like 8 hour cream. I think they put effort into the packaging and don't worry about the product.

Even after swearing off them I got sucked in by a thread here about a serum. I thought for the price it was worth a try, but it was just a mediocre moisturiser with an old fashioned perfume smell.

LadyEloise1 · 15/02/2022 17:18

I got the Paradise handwash.
I think it's The White Company dupe.

This made me chuckle because "unpleasantly perfumed Vaseline" is exactly how I would describe 8 Hour Cream! Grin

Really does show that it's horses for courses with some beauty stuff.
