People starting to have shorter haircuts again?

I’ve only noticed this recently, after many years of seeing long, loooooong hair on girls and women everywhere.

I’m in south Shropshire if that helps, but very few have very long hair now, it only occurred to me this week.

Anyone else noticed a change in this where you are?
Are shorter styles/cuts branching out?

I think shorter haircuts definitely seem to becoming popular again among my daughters’ friends (late teens, early 20s). Lots of young people have experimented with cutting their hair short or even shaving it during the lockdowns.
Personally I’ve always loved having long hair. In my 20s and 30s I had it halfway down my back, and now at 50 I suppose it’s still quite ‘long’ at just below my shoulders. Perhaps I’ll become one of those hippy older woman with waist length white hair Grin

@Cucumberinginplease

I'm 43 and in the midlands. I've had short (grade 4 at the back) hair for 14 years. I love it!

I'd never go back to the faff and hassle of long hair. 4 minutes to dry and style and I'm done.

I rarely see other women my age with short hair and the teenagers/young women I've seen have been very few.

Mines a similar length and style but a grade 3, I’m almost 40 and it took me a while to brave having it cut short, I love it now but I have to get it cut often and coloured.

Yea, a cut every 4 weeks, but only c&c ever three months. So the other two appointments I'm in and out. It's no bother really, I'm kind of used to it now.

I last grew my hair long in my 40s (ten years ago) and then saw a photo of me and a group of friends and we all looked the same so I cut it short again which suits me better.

Went out with same group of friends last week, all eight of them (aged between 30 and 60) had the same caramel-coloured long hair and not a fringe among them. Lovely hair but...

All the local teens have (beautiful) long hair but it might be nice to see some variation.

It really really isn't regional!
